The effects of single and compound UV cut-off agent and compound Redox on UV and visible spectrum transmittance of ultra-white glass were investigated. The study shows that under the combined action of CeO2 and Mo2O3, the UV transmittance of ultra-white glass can be reduced to 54.50%, and the visible light transmittance remains at 92.56%, When the compound Redox is 7~10, the chromaticity value (color) and UV-visible transmittance of ultra-white glass will not almost be affected.
Myopia is a common eye disease, which has a high incidence in children and adolescents in China and gradually shows a tendency of younger age. Moderate and high myopia can cause many serious ophthalmic complications and high myopia may become the leading cause of blindness in the world. Based on the retinal peripheral defocus theory, we discuss the research progress in the prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents by optical corrections such as spectacle lens, soft contact lens and orthokeratology designed to reduce peripheral hyperopic defocus, and provide insights on the potential efficacy of slowing down the growth of ocular axial length, so as to provide more clinical guidance for the prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents.
In recent years, China’s myopia rate has shown an overall high and low-age development trend. Therefore, myopia prevention and control products are paid more and more attention. Peripheral myopia defocus lenses (hereinafter referred to as "prevention and control lenses"), whose principle of function is mainly to apply the defocus theory to delay the deepening of the degree, are not widely selected by consumers. This paper expounds the working principle of prevention and control lenses and the reasons why they are not selected, and gives suggestions on the development.
Based on the common means of myopia prevention and control in the market and relying on literature research, this paper compares the defocus theory and its application in myopia prevention and control, and finds that the functional lens with asymmetric peripheral defocus design is effective for myopia control of children and adolescents and can achieve a balance of visual comfort. At the same time, accurate matching of the defocus amount can better meet the needs of different groups of people. But in actual clinical applications, it is necessary to choose suitable products for customers, so as to achieve the best control effect.
To analyze the main methods of children and adolescents vision correction and existing application data of optical feeding instrument and functional frame glasses, we can find out the effective means of prevention and control. Results showed that the visual acuity of most adolescents and children was improved after using functional frame glasses plus the optical feeding instrument, the speed of myopia deepened slowly, and the speed of axial growth slowed down. So most adolescents and children have better effects when improving their eye habits combining with dual prevention control methods.
To investigate the incidence of dry eye in college students and the effect of different using time of visual display terminals (VDT) on the break-up time of the tear film (BUT), thirty-eight college students (44 eyes) were studied. All included eyes were divided into dry eye group (n=25) and healthy group (n=19) according to the diagnosis of dry eye. Visual acuity, intraocular pressure, ocular surface disease index (OSDI), BUT and schirmer testⅠwere applied to each subject. According to results of the normal test and homogeneity test of variance, Mann-Whitney U test, paired T-test and independent sample T-test were obtained. Results showed that there was no statistical difference in OSDI score between the dry eye group and the healthy group, but difference existed between the dry eye group and the healthy group in BUT (P =0.000), suggesting that there were still a part of students who did not receive the timely diagnosis of dry eye because of unconspicuous dry eye symptoms. There was significant difference in BUT before and after VDT (P =0.016) reading. However, there was no difference between the dry eye group and the healthy group in different VDT reading time groups, indicating that for both the dry eye group and the healthy group, long-term use of mobile phone screen would reduce tear film stability, but this instability of tear film made no difference between the dry eye group and the healthy group.
