Investigation of the emission lines of U atom by using a homemade U hollow cathode discharge lamp is reported. From the measurements of spectral characteristic parameters of U HOD lamp the optimal working conditions for spectral measurements are obtained. The measu ed data of some emission lines and gf values of U atom are also given.

    Experimental observation of increasing absorption optical bistability in polyory-stalline ZnSe with high absorption is reported. We found that the bistability still can be obtained when the absorption of nonlinear medium is much higher than the theoretical criterion. The dependences of switching powers on the spot radius of beam and the thickness of sample have been measured. Using the model of two imaginary-layers, experimental results are qualitatively explained.

    In this paper we report on spectral linewidth of our CSP (AlGa)As single longitudinal mode LDs, Δv<5 MHz, (The narrow-west spectra linewidth single mode, now is about Δv-10MHz abroad) The mechanism of linowidth broadening is analysed and the methods of narrowing linewidth are suggested.

    The theory of optical holography and Fourier optics have been applied to the-analysis of diffraction images and interference fields in testing aspheric surfaces with Computer Generated Hologram (CGH). A new viewpoint which considered the null interference to be an indefinite range field in the testing set-up is proposed. The> experimental results support above conclusion.

    Based on the equations of the optical transform, phase errors of the holographic lens used in a transform caused by space-transverse-modulation is analysed, and a method of computer generated hologram combined with optical holography is proposed to generate a 2-dimensional (2-D) holographic lens suitable for 2-D transform. The 2-D Walah-Hadamard transform in 32-sequenoe is optically realized. The experimental results are in agreement with the theoretical calculations.

    By means of CCD and A/D, flash speotrograph can be used to obtain spectral energe distribution of an instantaneous illuminant. Through the analysis for the energe relation of flash speotrograph, it is expounded in this article that how the output of flash speotrograph ia affected by the relative diffraction efficiency of grating, with examples of flash xenon lamp spectra in the wavelength range from 0.36μm to 10μm.

    A precise measuring method of micro-vibration amplitude is reported. Optical heterodyne phase detecting technique, servo looking for the optical path difference of interferometer and narrow band detecting technique are used. The signal to noise ratio is improved greatly. The sensitivity of amplitude measuring can reach 2.2×10-2 A/ (2 kHz signal).

    In this paper, according to the differences of the index profiles between gradient-index lens and fiber, the focusing method, which was applied successfully in the measurement of fiber and its preform, has been greatly improved on the principle formula and calculating miethod, in order that the focusing method can be suitable to the measurement of gradient lens. The reliability of the modified focusing method was tested by computer simulation and the error of measurement was given in same way. Finally the index profiles of some samples were measnred and compared with fciie results by other method or instrament.

    This paper presents a new method——Harmonic-Mixing Pulse Eleotro-Optio Probing for measureing the distribution of high frequency electric field: its principle, experimental apparatus, and its application to the measurement of standing-wave in GaAs coplanar waveguide. Experimental results gotten from measurements at frequencies up to 20.10 GHz and with different terminations (short,open and 50 ohms) are in good agreement with that predicted by theory. A discussion on the sensitivity and spatial resolution of tliis measurement mfethod is given.

    Reported here are results of both theoretical and experimental studies of the phase-change recording media Tex(InySe1-y)1-αsystem. Using TeSeln thin film corresponding to the composition of the euteotio region (x = 0.7, y = 0.2-0.5), erasing time of 10μs, the contrase ratio of 0.23 and more than 105 reversible cycling have been obtained.

    Using a tunable semiconductor laser in the spectral range of 380cm-1 to 500cm-1, laser-induced photoconductivity spectrum from shallow acceptor impurities in silicon was observed for the first time. The photon flux on the sample was typically 1018 per cm2-sec., and the photon energy was smaller than the ionization energy of the impurities. Two photon transition is suggested for the representation of the spectrum. Resonances in the photoconductivity spectrum are observed for the photon energies corresponding to the 2p1 and 2p2 states of Si:Al which act aa intermediate states for the two photon transition. Anti-resonanoe due to two photon transparency is also observed.

    Theoretical researches and measurement of the mean diameter and the diameter distribution of particles, such as low-concentration water droplets appearing in wet steam turbines, have been done by using an optical measurement apparatus with a He-Ne laser developed by the authors. In the design of experimental system, an anti-Gaussian filter is used to eliminate the effect of Gaussian beam and also a Fourier Transformation lens of high precision is applied to eliminate the spherical aberration In addition, a photosensitive detector is manufactured. By meana of these three deyio^ it is possible to greatly inorease the measurement aoouraoy. This apparatus is oa!ibra1)ep' by directly measuring diameters of glass beads suspended in water. The results are-compared with those obtained by miorophotographio statistical method and with those obtained by using a Malvern instrument. The experimental results indicate that this! light scattering apparatua is oharaoterized by high precision, wide application area andi broad measurement range of particle size (5~200 μm).

    For realizing symbolic substitution rules of binary addition. This paper proposes a simple optical logic system which includes only one 2-D array of optical bistable device. One optical bistable ZnS IF of transmission-reflection type which simultane-ausly has two logic functions of NXOR and OR as optical logic device is used in this arithmetic system. The invariable free space interconnect is adopted in the optical system. Four symtolic substitution rules of binary addition can be parallelly implement in the optical logic system. The optioal logic system has the advantages of fewer optioal hardwares, lower loss of optioal power and simple architecture.

    This paper presents a method of spectral recognition for vegetable oil colonr inspection. The method breaks through the traditional CIE colour measurement pattern, substitutes spectral feature and nonfixed view-field pattern for tristimulus value and its fixed aperture colour measurement pattern, respectively. A good discrimination function which is suitable to examing vegetable oil colour is developed. The experimental results are satisfied.
