A new method combining the Fourier self-deconvolution(FSD),autoregressive model(AR)and truncated singular value decomposition (TSVD) forsuperresolution estimating of Fourier transform spectra is discussed. Comparing to theother methods for the purpose of resolution enhancement, the method proposed in thispaper (as is called the FAT method) has the advantages of higher resolution, narrowerline shape, no spurious peaks and insensitive to noise.

By forming simultaneously photosensitive layers on both-sides of cellulosetriacetate film with chemical reaction, we obtained a holographic recording film withstratified sensitivity─dichromated cellulose triacetate(DC-TAC ). The stratifiedvolume holographic gratings(SVHG)recorded on the film have, to our best knowledge, the highest 1th-order experimental diffraction efficiency(54%).In this paper, themaking method and the micro-mechanism of forming SVHG are described. The strictlyperiodic selectivity of the SVHG is given. In addition, the difference of the diffraction efficiency of double-layer SVHG between the experimental value in DC-TAC and the theoretical prediction is discussed. The effective way for futher improving the diffraction efficiency and the potential applications of the SVHG in some interesting fields are suggested.

In this paper, a new unipolar similarity is proposed. The capacity of theunipolar WTA neural network model is improved and a input pattern not being memorypatterns can be recognized by adding to a thresholding. A opto-electronic system and someexperimental results are described. The modification of unipolar WTA model enables thespace band product and time band product of the system fully used.

Wavelet transform (WT) is efficient for image features extraction. We built anew syptem for optically implementing wavelet transform by introducing the technique ofjoint transform correlation. We derived the basic theory of joint wavelet transform(JWT),and described our experimental results of image features extraction using jointwavelet transform correlator.

The optimized output transmissivities of the cw Ti:sapphire lasers for a givenpump power have been experimentally selected by measuring the powers of reflectedbeams from the fused silica plate placed inside the laser cavity at different incident angles. The optimized output transmissivities for different pump powers can be theoreticallyderived by using the pump thresholds at two different output transmissivities. Themeasurements and calculations have been made for three Ti: sapphire rods with the different concentrations. The theoretical results are approximately in accord with the measured values.

In this paper, a new method of measuring complex piezoelectric constants ofpiezoelectric materials with Michelson interfermeter is presented. The interferometerconsists of two mirrors, one is allached to the sample and the other to the controlledpiezoelectric ceramic, By using photodiode and two phase, lock-in amplifier, theinterference figure is transfered, amplified and measured. A change of sample length dueto converse piezoelectric effect as small as 0.6 pm is detected. In the range of frequence of 2.5 Hz~2.5 kHz and temperature of -60~90 ℃, the d′31, d″31 of PEX5 piezoelectric ceramic of PZT series are measured and discussed.

In the frame of the unified expansion theory(UET) we obtain the higherprecision expressions of the UET by means of improving the accuracy of calculation, andthen extend it to the laser systems. Two single-mode dye-laser models are studied by themodified UET, and the expressions of stationary probabilities, means and variances laserintensity are obtained. Comparison shows that the results of the modified UET agree wellwith the exact numerical results and the simulation results better than the results of the unified colored-noise appreximation (UCNA).

A tangential function is introduced to describe the nonlinear light-electriccurrent relation of a photo-electric diode. Based on the rate equations of semiconductorlaser and the nonlinear function equation mentioned above, we have established thetheory of bistable laser diode (BILD) and analyzed the major properties of BILD usingthis method. Finaly, the ways for improving the response feature of BILD are proposedaccording to the numerical analysis results.

The kinetics mechanisms of additive hyrdogen in CuBr lasers are investigatedsystematically. There are two important mechanisms for increasing laser power afteradding hydrogen:(1)The gas temperature and CuBr vapor density at the center of lasertube are reduced, it decreases collision energy depletion of electron and leads to increaseelectron temprature;(2)Electron density increases during the pulse, the skin effect andthe" black center" of laser are improved. There is an optimum range of additivehydrogen, which is observed in the experiment. The mechanism is that with the gas temperature further decreased, the copper density and electron temperature are also decreased, it will restrain the population of the laser levels.

The deep center-related photoluminescence(PL)in GaAs thin films grown onSi substrates were measured with respect to the changes of temperature. The peak energiesand PL intensities of the 0. 78 eV, 0. 84 eV and 0. 93 eV PL bands as a function oftemperature were studied. It is found that the temperature dependence of the PLintensities obeys the formula as that used for amorphous semiconductors because of theexistonce of localized states. The origins of the PL bands were discussed.

The magnitude and phase of thedipole force are given and the dependence of phase on atomic velocity is discussed, whichaffect the dynamics of stoms in a soanding wave. Cu doped Bi, Al: DyIG films have been prepared onto glass substrates bypyrolysis method. The static read-write performance have been studied. Cu doped garnetfilms can be obtained with high coercive force and good Farady hysteresis loops, and it isuseful to stabilize the written domains. Also, appropraite addition of Cu can make grainsize small, and it benefits to reducing grain boundary noise. A He-Ne laser device wasused as recording source. Under certain conditions of writing power, read-out power and biased magnetic field, it is easy to take the read-write process using Cr layer as reflective layer when the pulse width is 50 ns, the writing power can be lowered to 5 mW.
