At present, the main methods for controlling myopia in clinical practice include optical correction, drug treatment, surgery, outdoor activities and so on. Among them, defocus frame glasses in optical correction have advantages such as acceptable myopia control effect, convenient wearing, fewer adverse reactions, and no age limit, and are widely used in clinical practice. This article summarized the control effect and possible mechanism of different design types of defocus frame glasses on myopia, in order to provide reference guidance for the clinical application of defocus frame glasses.
With the advent of the video terminal era, the prevalence rate of myopia has increased significantly and shown a trend of younger people, and how to control the development of myopia more effectively has become a social research hotspot nowadays. Orthokeratology lens (OK lens) has been used in clinical application for nearly 20 years, and its effect of controlling the occurrence and development of myopia has been widely recognized at home and abroad. At present, peripheral defocus of retina is the mainstream theory of controlling myopia by OK lens, which has been widely concerned by scholars. The principle of peripheral retinal defocus was expounded from the defocus animal model test. Based on the peripheral retinal defocus theory, the relevant studies on the control effect controlling myopia and the related factors affecting the peripheral retinal defocus amount of OK lens were summarized, so as to provide reference for effective measures of myopia prevention and control in clinical practice.
One of the mechanisms of myopia is mediated by scleral factors, and sleral fibroblasts are an important component of the outermost tissue of the eyeball. This study prepared magnetic/graphene(MNP/G) composite nanomaterials using covalent precipitation method and introduced them into scleral fibroblasts for magnetic stimulation. The effect of magnetic stimulation on cell growth was observed, and the proliferation status of scleral fibroblasts was detected using CCK-8 method. The growth status of cells was observed using an inverted phase contrast microscope, and the toughness of scleral tissue was inferred by measuring the concentration of hydroxyproline. The results indicated that magnetic stimulation can promote cell growth without any difference from the normal state as well as collagen synthesis. Magnetic stimulation may be a method to increase scleral toughness, and be expected to provide new methods and ideas in the prevention and correction of myopia.
The study focused on observing the clinical effects of myopia control in children aged 5 to 18. The participants were non-randomly assigned to two groups based on their willingness to undergo visual therapy: Defocus Incorporated Multiple Segments lens group (DIMS group) and the combined group of DIMS lenses and visual therapy (combined group). A retrospective observational study was conducted on the data from 230 eyes of enrolled children after a 6-month follow-up, revealing that all enrolled children exhibited slow myopia progression, with an average spherical equivalent(SE) progression of (-0.07±0. 18)D/half year and an average axial elongation of (0.04±0. 15) mm/half year. There was no statistical difference in the degree of spherical equivalent progression between the two treatment groups(X2=3.200, P>0.05), but there was a statistical diference in the degree of axial elongation progression (X2=10.667, P<0.05). In conclusion, through 6-month clinical follow-up, it was found that myopic children wearing DIMS lenses can achieve effective control over myopia (SE) progression and axial elongation;furthermore,simultaneous visual therapy may provide additional benefits for controlling axial elongation.

Some suggestions for improving college Chinese education for optometry major were put forward, in order to provide reference for the humanities education of similar majors.

Clinical nursing of ophthalmology and optometry is a highly specialized and interdisciplinary medical subject. The establishment and optimization of its teaching evaluation system is crucial for improving teaching quality and cultivating qualified professionals in the field of ophthalmology and optometry. By combining literature review and empirical research, this paper explored the necessity of establishing a teaching evaluation system for clinical nursing of ophthalmology and optometry, analyzed the problems existing in the current evaluation system, and proposed optimization strategies. In order to establish and optimize the teaching evaluation system of optometry clinical nursing, diversified evaluation methods must be adopted in teaching evaluation, and the application and feedback of evaluation results should be strengthened. Only in this way can we obtain a scientific and perfect teaching evaluation effect. This work was expected to provide reference for clinical nursing of ophthalmology and optometry education, promote the perfection and development of the discipline, and enhance the status and influence of the discipline.
