The laser beams automatic alignment system is used in the high power laser facility for inertial confinement fusion. Considering the ninth beam of SGⅡ, a reasonable scheme for automatic alignment is presented. It has been demonstrated on the experiment system. Results indicate that beam paths adjustment can be finished in 15 m by the automatic alignment system. The precision of the smallcaliber nearfield adjustment is less than ±0.5 mm and the largecaliber nearfield adjustment is less than ±1.0 mm. The accuracy of the farfield adjustment is less than ±1″. Requirements of the facility are met.
