Tunable picometer-linewidth 972.26 nm laser generation from a volume Bragg grating-based BBO optical parametric oscillator [Early Posting]
A narrow-linewidth 972.26 nm laser with 4.5 pm spectral linewidth was generated from a BBO optical parametric oscillator using a volume Bragg grating as the cavity end mirror, pumped by a 532.23 nm single-longitudinal-mode laser at 1 kHz repetition rate. The system achieved 0.94 W maximum output power with <2.4 ns pulse duration, yielding 23.5% signal conversion efficiency. Extracavity second-harmonic generation produced 0.41 W of 486.13 nm blue light with 2.0 pm linewidth and 43.6% conversion efficiency. The wavelength could be tuned over 0.4 nm by varying the grating temperature between 12.6 and 52.6 ℃.
