Reconfigurable interference-pattern helico-conical beams based on coordinate transformation [Early Posting]

    In this letter, we demonstrate one new type of reconfigurable interference-pattern helico-conical beams (HCBs) based on coordinate transformation. By employing the scale factors, the HCB patterns can be flexibly controlled in the elliptical coordinate system. The field distribution can be further affected by the orientation of the disconnection lines while performing coordinate rotation. Furthermore, we transcend the conventional parameter constraints in the new coordinate system in order to explore the mechanism of interference patterns. More comprehensive modes are investigated through elaborate synthesis. The proposed beams are expected to find potential applications in particle manipulation and nanostructure fabrication.
