This peper introduces method and its relative apparatus of using laser induced fluorescence to measure the most traverse Probable velocity and veleocity distribution of metal atomic vapor born in vacuum chamber by means of the isotope spectrumtranslation and CCD device.In the CaSe Of the vapor model of 4×6 mm2,the experiment shows: the most transverse probable velocity increases linearly with x approximately and its distribution is not affeCted by the heating power; the transverse velocity distribution of atom density flux meets normal function and the FHWM of velocity varies with the heating power.

    Using axicon-based optical devices can realize such transormations as Gauss' beam into a diffraction-free Bessel beam,solid beam and annular beam converting each other. In this paper, the combining optical systems are analyzed theoretically and studied experimentally in detail, both of the results are in agreement. It is shown that the axicon beam converters have wide applications in laser techniques.

    A general solution for beam path equation is proposed and the condition for the existence of analytical solution is derived. The ray propagation theory of Ref.[1] is generalized. Finally, as an example, the characteristics of Gaussian beam propagation in a particular gradient index rod is also discussed.

    Using cylindrical mirror and spherical mirror as a focusing system, we have made a one dimensional stigmatic spectrometer,with spatial resolution better than 25 μm and 5 times amplifications. The Ne-like Ge X-ray laser amplification region was measured by using it,and the results agree with the theoretical calculations.

    Processing up-conversion material BaY5:Yb, Er with polyethylene, a plastic film was produced,which has many features, including good light transmittance, integrity, compatible for use and for sturage and high IR to visible conversion efficiency.I t has been used in the display of laser light both from Nd:laser and from 0.9 μm semiconductor laser.

    Two phase delay elements λ/4 wave plate QWP and λ/2 wave plate HWP are used in the system of phase-change two beam optical head. The characteristes of QWP greatly affect the feature of the system, including signal to noise ration (SNR)of reading signal of optical disk and quality of servo signal. In this peper the defects of conventional wave plate is analyzed, and the design consideration of a wave plate with titling optical axis are mainly discussed.

    This experiment studies the light absorption laws of the blood componentS between 240 to 800 nm. The results show: 1) The absorbance and transmittance laws resemble each other in blood of Group A, B, AB and O. 2) Between 600 to 800 nm, absorbances of the whole blood, erythrocyte, leukocyte, plasma and serum are less than 5 percent, while the transmittances of them are more than 95 percent. 3) To erythrocyte and lymphocyte, typical absorption peaks appear at (416.57±1.90) nm, (542.71±1.80) nm, (578.57±1.81) nm.

    The dynamic distortion of Nd3+-glass rod of φ50×500 mm was measured by holographic method using a pulsed-multi-mode ruby laser as light sources. The patterns of dynamic distortion during pumping were given in this paper. The refractive index equations were derived,all parameters of equation were calculated, and the compensation for distortion was analysed.

    Both optical absorption spectra and optical constants of vacuum sublimed films of a metal substituted phthalocyanine compound (MPc) were studied. The dynamic optical storage test of MPc as a recording medium showed that the carrier to noise ratio (CNR) of the 5.25" disk was greater than 43 dB.

    We have successfully fabricated the room temperature CW InGAsP/InP separated confinement single quantum well(SQW)DC-PBH laser at 1.48 μm by liquid phase epitaxy for the first time in our country. The lowest threshold current at room temperature is 23 mA for the cavity length of 200 μm The highest CW output power is 18.8 mW per facet without mirror coating. The power saturation doesn't occur yet while the pulsed output power is higher than 50 mW. The thicknesses of active layer and transition layer in quantum well are 20 nm and 3 nm, respectively.

    Room temperature operation of a Nd:YAG microchip laser pumped by LD was achieved for the first time in China.The output power reached 62.5 mW,when pumping power was 340 mW. Optical efficiency was 18%. The experimental set-up and results are given and the primary properties of LD pumped microchip lasers are discussed in this paper.

    In this paper,the efficiency of wide band laser output of pure LiF crystals with colo centers is improved up to 11%. The curve of output power visus temperature is made. The tunable laser output in the range of the 0.86 to 1.02 μm is obtained, and the kinetics behavior of various color centers in pure LiF crystals under pump light is discussed.

    It was studied that the MPI spectra and the TOF mass spectra of tetramethylsilane with parallel plate vacuum cell and supersonic molecular beam system with UV laser radiation in the wavelength range of 383 to 373 nm. In experiments, seven strong peaks of MPI spectra were gumed but only three were assigned to (2+1) ionization of Si atoms. TOF mass spectra showed that Si+ and constantly appeared.A general conclusion was gumed that the MPI machanism of tetramethylsilane was class B photochemical process.

    Shock waves initiated from nitrogen gas breakdown by laser plses of high intensity and promation of the shock waves are examined experimentally and discussed with a model of explosion wave. The peper presented propagation law of the shock waves and explained the experimental results satisfactorily.

    A temperature-tuned type II noncritical phase-matched LiB3O5 (LBO) optical perametric oscillator (OPO) pumped by 0.532 μm was investigated in detail. At the temperature range of 20 to 200 ℃, the tuning range covers 1.002 to 0.898 μm and 1.134 to 1.306 μm. The most attractive feature of the device is the very narrow signal linewidth which is only 1/10 of that of type I LBO OPO.

    Based on the principle of high-light ultra-microscopy inspection of platinum inclusions in Nd-doped phosphate laser glass was made by means of copper vapour laser (CVL) scattering. Comparing with laser damage-testing method, it was found that the two results are in good agreement.

    A new laser crystal, Nd:ZnO:LiNbO3 has been grown for the first time by doping Nd2O3and ZnO into to LiNbO3. The threshold of photo damage is as large as Nd:MgO:LiNbO3. Zn2+ ions have no effect on the spectral properties of Nd3+ ions in the LiNbO3 crystal.
