Recently, artificial infrared temptation (tracer bullet) countermeasure is an important efficient countermeasure skill. Therefore the infrared guided missiles must have a property of CCM-infrared jam. Some basic characteristics of infrared jam have been discussed in this paper, that is spectral phenomenology for infrared jam, radiant intensity ratio of target/infrared jam, altitude effect and velocity effect of infrared jam, etc. Those results which have been obtained by a great number of experiments have applicable value in practice. Finally, a brief introduction about infrared guided missile simulation technique and necessary jam-module approaches in infrared-jam countermeasure has been stated for evaluating CCM-infrared jam capability.

Some factors that lead to angle distinguish error in laser warning device are discussed in this article. For example, dynamic range of the receive circuit is not wide enough, the FOV diaphragm isn't big enough comparing to the photo-sensitive area, mount error for optical window exists and optical fiber coupling method isn't perfect, etc. In this paper, some methods for reducing these errors are introduced.

Human face recognition is one of the relative difficult and important issues in the field of pattern recognition, which is significant both in theoretical research and in practical application. Traditional methods of face recognition based on K-L transform do not necessarily correspond to isolated features such as eyes, ears, and noses. And face recognition using eigenfaces has made much progress. But for complex and special scenes, facial images will change as a result of the effect of age, emotion, illumination changes, and hair, so the images of the same person differ drastically. Traditional methods of automatic face recognition based on K-L transform can not cope with such effects. In this paper, principal component analysis is introduced into face recognition. Simulating the real changes of facial images and making corresponding distortions in advance, a series of distorted facial images are produced. Then the principal components of distorted faces are extracted with principal component analysis. Finally appropriate principal components are selected with genetic algorithm to span an eigenspace for recognition.A new distortion invariant method of automatic face recognition with learning function is proposed and experiments with this method are made.Experimental results show the feasibility and robustness of this algorithm.

Data redundancy can improve the performance of automatic feature extraction in remote sensing image if the concept of data fusion is applied in it. Extensions of classical set union and intersection do not lead to satisfactory results (the corresponding operators are either too indulgent or too severe), but fusing two operators that have opposite properties can obtain an obvious result. In this paper, context dependent fuzzy operator is used to achieve this compromise, and a new formation of weights is proposed. Based on the simulative result, the performance of this method is discussed.

The Performance evaluation method of scene matching algorithm based on statistic experiment is a current important and active research field. The most important thing is to creat the relations between matching performance and image feature set. In this article, how to select the image feature set is discussed. Theory analysis and experiment show that image feature set based on real time image size accords with the result of theory analysis, and it suits for performance evaluation and matching area selection.

It is difficult to get ideal facial contour using conventional edge extraction operator. In this paper, a new contour extraction method was presented. It was based on geometrical feature of human face. At first edges were extracted with the combination of SOBEL and CANNY operators. Redundant edges were removed consequently and useful edges were connected using facial geometrical feature. Satisfactory facial contour and good localization are achieved through this approach to meet the requirement for facial feature detection. Over 50 different face images are tested by this method and it is shown to produce results with high accuracy

Most time-to-contact approaches were concentrated in visible light before, where the image feature points were stable, and can be traced between serial frames, so can time-to-contact estimation be obtained from object scale change rate. But in infrared, it is hard to get the stable feature which can be used to trace between images. In this paper, a new method of time-to-contact estimation is proposed. According to the characteristic of infrared image, which is hard to extract feature points but relative easier to segment, the OTSU segmentation method is developed to obtain the area of target, and then the interframe change ratio of the area is used to estimate the time-to-contact information. At last, an adaptive correction method is presented to increase the precision.

Because of the presence of the difference in grey level and the distortion between object image and reference image, traditional matching method will be degraded. We need more useful characters. In this paper, a new image matching method based on singular value decomposition (SVD) is proposed. Firstly, object image is decomposed, its SVD value and SVD eigenvector are obtained, and then they are applied as characters of the object image in matching process. Because of the excellent characters of SVD, the experimental results show that this image matching method could bear image distortion to some extent and is very promising.

In order to measure the performance parameters of laser range finders, a new intelligent measuring system is developed, which introduces advanced control technologies, very quick and convenient WIN32 computer software and a skillfully designed beam splitter system. It can synchronously measure optical axis consistency, width and energy of the pulse, beam divergence angle, and so on. A 1296×1030 CCD is adopted in order to ensure 10″ of spatial resolving ability;A 350MHz oscilloscope is used to catch the laser pulse as narrow as 10ns;A laser power meter which has high accuracy and large dynamic scope is used to obtain accurate energy measurement of the laser pulse. The system has been checked and accepted, and all the performance parameters meet the design demands. Now it is used by user and operates very well.

External vibration can cause error in surface measurement and if it is severe enough the fringes will be completely washed out. Adaptive control to compensate the effects of vibration is an effective method to eliminate external disturbance. In this article, the latest developed methods of adaptive vibration-compensated interferometry are introduced and discussed.

In order to solve the passive tracking observability problem of single infrared sensor, an active\|passive joint tracking algorithm for maneuvering target with infrared sensor and laser is developed. The current statistical model for maneuvering target is extended from one dimension to 3-D. The state and measurement equations for arbitrary maneuvering target in 3-D are educed. The angle and range measured by infrared sensors and laser respectively are fused and aligned in time and the correct measurements for target are given. The extended adaptive Kalman filter algorithm is used to estimate the position, velocity and acceleration of maneuvering target in 3-D space simultaneously. The results of simulation show that the presented algorithm is feasible and satisfying.

In this paper, a crossing dual-light-path laser detection system for visibility by forward-scattering is presented. The measurements of visibility and scatter coefficient are realized through measuring scatter energy in forward 30° direction and transmission energy in straight direction for a 0.81μm laser. The system consists of three parts: optical emitting and receiving system, signal amplifying and controlling system, and displaying system. The optical emitting and receiving system mainly consists of laser diode, collimating lens, extending lens, receiving lens, cut-off filter, narrow band interference filter, and Si-PIN photodiode. The signal amplifying and controlling system mainly consists of voltage amplifier, sample/hold circuit, muti-channel analog switch, A/D converter, and 8031 single chip processor. The display system mainly consists of indicator and printer. The principle and configuration of the system are introduced. At last, the key technologies about stability, precision and optical-electronic interference in the process of measurement are discussed. The solution is proposed.

A conventional single-channel anti-Stokes temperature measurement system usually demands a considerately long measuring period. To overcome such a drawback while guarantee time and space resolution of the system, a method was proposed in this paper, which calls for a much shorter period by employing modern DSP such as wavelet decomposition, multi-resolution analysis and wavelet reconstruction .The characteristics of distributed temperature measurement signal were discussed first. Then, how to select proper wavelet functions was emphasized as well as how to ascertain the levels of wavelet decomposition by means of Shannon entropy. The experiments indicate that the measurement period is greatly reduced, thus the system becomes more efficient.
