The reconstruction precision of an improved Conjugate-gradient iterative method, the effects of increased input data error and limited total viewing angle have been studied based on the knowledge of refractive index fields aid of computer simulations. As an example, the flame temperature fields were reconstructed, and the results are compared with thermocouple measurements.

In this paper the limitation of the slit width formula of one-step rainbow holography with a synthesized slitlike, W = 2λf//ΔS, is described. Then the improved schemes, which can increase the region of object-image magnification in two-lens imaging system and can reconstruote an original image, are discussed and demonstrated experimentally. Consequently, application flexibity of the technique is extended.

Based on the diffraction imaging theory, we developed an analytical formula of Verling Glare Index of optical system by "balck spot" method. This formula consists of both the construction performances of the system to be measured and the testing conditions. We formulated a computer program for computing the VGI. The computed VGI is almost the same as measured oue for the same optical system.

A new method for measuring reflectivity in the spectum of far ultraviolet and vacuum ultraviolet is described in this paper. The instrument designed features an optical system, a look-in amplifying detection technique in connexion with a data processing computer. The accuracy is better than ±5×10-3 and the precision better than ±5×10-4.

High density F3+ centers can be produced efficiently by irradiating the colored LiF crystals with nitrogen laser (337 nm) at liquid-nitrogen temperature. The experimental procedure, speotroscopio properties and formative mechanism of the second creation of F3+ centers in the crystals are described in great detail.

A simple, quick, and highly sensitive method for measuring the electro-optio coefficients of crystals has been suggested. This method is based on compensating the change of optical path due to the electro-optic effects of crystals with that due to th ant-piezoelectric effect of a piezoaleobrio crystal on a Twyman interferometsr.

Using the phenomenologieal parameters "a" and "b" introduced by Endniok and Stern to describe the surface cruuents,we have derived the expressions for the optical second-harmonic generation from metal surfaces in specular direction. It is shown that the harmonic signal as a function of the polarization state of the incident beam will give direct information about the parameter "a", so the value of this parameter could be determined with precision.

By using the recoupled wave functions in a two-atom system[1], the second order correlation functions of a two-atom system are solved in this paper. And the influences of the stimulated emission between atoms, the transverse and longitudinal relaxations, and the frequency detuning on the photon antibunohing are numerically discussed. If T1》T2, then the antibunohing will be reduced.

The imaging process of shearing speeklegram, its spectrum distribution and formation of gringes created by whole-field filtering are analysed by means of stati-sbioal optics in this paper. We find that the fringe distribution is related not only to the derivation of 3-D displacement but also to the amount of in-plane displacement. Accordingly the factors influencing the quality of fringes are discussed and experimental demonstration is given.

Possibility of making an optical element of astigmatic character (astigmatic holographic element) by holographic method is analyzed theoretically. The astigmatic character in the space normal direction is researched in detail. The experimental results are given. The advantages are easy to operate and ecomomy.

We report in this paper a high-gain tuned LiNbO3 optical parametric oscillator pumped by a Q-switched ruby laser. The maximum output energy and conversion efficiency is as high as 50mJ/pulse aud 19 % respectively. The oscillator is continuously tunable from 1.1444μm to 1.7652μm.

The resonance fluorescence of an atom in an intense laser field was investigated via dressed atom approach. The steady st te solution of the master ,equation was obtained, in which the damping of the photon in laser mode was compensated by introducing a exciting term in the master equation. The shape and intensity of the resonance fluoresoenoe was given. Some physios means was discussed.

The quenching kinetics of Xe(6p[1/2]0) and Xe(6p[3/2]s) atoms with oxygen compound have been studied. The reaction of Xe(6p) excited-states atoms with N2O and OCS generated significant UV emission of XeO* and XeS* with intensity maxima at 234 and 227 nm respectively. The mechanism for fluorescence emission is discussed.

I(5p2p3/20) and I*(5p 2P1/20) atoms have been detected by resonant(3+2)and(4+l) multiphoton ionization using tunable dye laser (4600-5000A).The iodine atoms are generated by laser dissociation of I molecules. 12 atomic transitions are observed in the laser wavelength region, among which the (4+1) multiphoton transitions are observed for the first time.
