In this paper relationship between the optical transfer function of sea water and the distribution of natural radiance field in the sea is simply and directly determined based on the transform model of the sea radiance transfer. The variance of the angle spectrum of the sea radiance field is analysed. A new simple m thpd of estimating the distribution of the sea radiance field and measuring the optical transfer function of the sea water is proposed. The method is perfectly suitable for the atmospheric circumstances.

By using grating imaging effect, a grating imaging reflection interferometer can be formen. Combining Moire method, reflection moire fringes which represent partial slope contours of out-of plane displacement of a mirrored surface specimen will be gotten on the self imaging plane of the interferometer.Comparing with conventional reflection moire method, this new method is a real time one and it no longer needs a high quality camera refqired by the conventional method. Both theoretical analyses and experimental vesuls are presented.

It is well known that rainbow holograms can be reconstructed by a spatially extened (rather than a point) white light source. But this fact coule not be explained by available theories [1-6]. In this paper, we propose a new concept "the effective width of extended source" that can explain the above fact successfully. The effective width omes from two limiting apertures, the skut and the viewer s pupil. These two apeurertsc make a rainbow hologram different from other holograms. The effects of spattal and spectral extensions 011 the image point of the rainbow hologram were studied and proved to be approximately equivalent whether they exist separately or simultaneously. The resolution of the rainbow holographic image is derived for the spatial and spectral extended reconStrnctibn fiotirce. Some reasonable conclusions axe giveis.. Obyiotisly, -these analyses are useftil for ftirfclier trnderstanding the physical meaning of rainbow holograms, explaining some experimental phenomena^ reducing temperal and spatial coherence requiments, and chosing reasonable optical parameters in practice.

The working principles of a digital photoelectrical centering instrument, its completed construction project, optical system, mechanical design, circuit principles and the results of testing and using of the instrument are described in this paper. This instrument can be used for centering during edging and cement, and testing centering error of lenses. We can measure deviation of spherical center with an accuracy as small as 1μm.

In this paper a new laser doppler anemometer (LDA), optic-electro-moduidtion-feedback LDA (OEMF-LDA), has beed described. In this system the optical components and electronic components are combined in a closed-loop by means of feedback signal which drives two Bragg cells to introduce a changable frequency difference between the two laser beams. The signal-to-noise ratio in this system is much higher than that in a conventional LDA. The frequency response of the OEMF-LDA has been discussed, based on both analysis and experiments.

Multimode waveguides in glass are fabricated by ion migration technique in AgNO3 +NaNO3 molten salts. Dependance of waveguide parameters on the concentration of AgNO3 is studied by using the White method and the back-scattered SEM spectra, A scheme for fabrication of waveguides with good matching with multlmode febre is proposed.

We make a comparison between the spherical resonant cavity and Fabry-Pero-cavity.The Raman oscillation within the spherical cavity which includes the oscillation spectra of water and ethanol droplets and the field distribution inside the droplets are discussed in detail. Both the output resonance and input resonance were observed in the experiment and are discussed. The high-order Stokes oscillation and the combination Stokes oscillation in the liquid droplets were also observed.

It is shown that the time-dependent intensity of an ultrashort laser pulse can be recovered from the secondorder correlation G(2) (τ) and the third-order correlation with single time-delay G(3) (τ) . A calculation method for recovering the intensity enveloped I(t) is presented. The experimental data are successfully processed by a computer with novel programming. A new instrument is suggested on the basis of determing I(t) of an ultrashort laser pulse from correlation measurements.

High power zone plate is an important imaging element for soft X-ray.This paper analyses the spherical aberration of non-aplanatic point imaging of aplanatic system. The characteristic of aplanatic system shows that non-aplanatic point imaging can produce aspherical holographic interference for high resolution zone plate fabrication used for X-ray imaging. The parameters of X-ray zone plate, to be used in beam line of Hefei National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory of China, and the configuration of an aplanatic system for making high power X-ray zone plate are also presented.

Using SOF d-orbital theory of Fe3+-ion in complex, we have calculated the absorption spectra of YIG and YGG:Fe3+ at low symmetry D3d and S4 respectively. With only two parameter N and μ, we have explained the splitting at 10800 cm-1, 21160 cm-1, 25700cm-1, 27600cm-1 in YIG, and pointed out that the peaks at 26320cm-1 and 26970cm-1 in YGG:Fe3+belong to two center transitions of Fe3+-ion pairs. Some confusion in the theory of the absorption specta of YIG and YGG:Fe3+ have been clarified.

A new design shich combining two kinds of interferometers, computer control and data processing and adoped, resulting in a high-precision measurement. An accuracy of ± 3 × 10-7℃-1 has been achieved in measuring the thermal expansion coefficient α in a low temperature region, temperature coefficient of refractive Index β and thermo-optic coefficient of refractive Index β and tiiermo-optic coefficient ω.

The atoms at autoionization state can be excited to higher continuum state, as well as transit to bond states by spontaneous emission a photon in laser induced autoionization. The effect of these processes on the laser induced autoionization process has been investigated by means of using the reaction matrix. The effect of spontaneous emission process is small in general case, but its spectrum shows that the emission is contributed mainly from the spontaneous Raman scattering enhanced by the cutoionization state, and the Dressed atom picture was shown clearly. The mnltiphoton process makes the photoelectron spectra and laser induced autoionization process very complicated. For example, the photoelectron spectra of one and two-photon process have multi-maxium structure.

In this paper, the dressed-atom approach is successfully used to derive the analytic solution of FIB gain foeffieient for two-photon resonantly pumped four-level system. The gain characteristics and AC stark effect of the system are discussed in detail. It is theoretically proved that the stimulated super-Raman process can lead to high power and frequency stable FIR lasers.
