The interconnection matrix of the banyan network was obtained and simulation calculation was carried out, which accords with experimental results. It provides an efficient analysis method for theoretical study on interconnection functions of the banyan networks.

    The influence on the TV tracking effective ranging in regard to both the signal and the forget-to-background contrast is analysed on the features of long-distance tracking and measuring of the target travelling at low altitude, based on the experience in development of opto-electronic tracking and measuring instrument. The discussion is emphasized on the dynamic contrast formed as the target passing across the TV field of view and its influence to the effective ranging. A method is proposed to improve the dynamic target-to-background contrast and to expand the TV tracking effective ranging by adopting electronic shutter and spectral matching techniques.

    This paper introduces a new nondestructive method-continuous wave electro-optic probing (CWEOP), which we have applied to detect the electrical field distribution of GaAs/AlGaAs LED array. The experiment results reflect the direction of injected current, the spreading of charge carriers and the homogeneity of the light emission by comparing the field distribution of each unit. The principle, experimental setup of the method and the experimental results and discussions to them are given. The comparison between the result of computer-aided simulation and the experiment one is also given at last.

    A new type of the normal incidence scanning reflectometer, in which a M-type prism is used to split light beam, has been designed and constructed. The incident angle is about 5° and the photon energy region is from 1.5 to 3.5 eV. The measurement is controlled automatically by a computer. The measureing precision is about 0.01.

    The dependence of temporal coherence of the laser beam on operation conditions of a high-gain laser has been calculated theoretically on the base of the model of Gaussian-shape power spectrum. We have studied temporal coherence of the CuBr laser experimentally and compared it with the calculating results.

    In this paper, a novel resonator is proposed and designed for high power solidstate lasers, where the diffraction filter is used to get high quality beam, and the diffraction losses are used as useful output. We have obtained experimentally almost diffraction limited laser output with power near 100 Watts.

    The characters of proton exchanged(PE) LiTaO3 optical waveguides are studied and the Cerenkov second harmonic generation (CSHG) from 1.064 μm to 0.532 μm is demonstrated the in these waveguides with a conversion efficiency of 122 %/W. cm2.The quality of the harmonic beam is high and the beam divergences along the two directions of vertical and parallel to the plane of the waveguide are 1.3 and 3.3 milliradian respectively.

    Based on the para-ctal wave equation, a group of analytical solutions for amplititude and spot radius of the Gaussian beam propagation through ampered gradientindex fibers are derived. From which a series of specific solutions for Gaussian beam propagation in P8rabolic, conical and taper-like gradient index fibers are obtained in this paper.

    The dispersion phenomena of the Floquet-Bloch waves in Periodic dielectric structures are analysed and summarized in terms of the wavevector diagrams. It is shown that the formation and variation of the stop-bands in wavevector diagrams are strongly dependent on the light wavelength and the structural parameters. With the increase of the periodic length or with the decrease of the light wavelength, the wavevector diagrams become more complicated,and more stop-bands would appear.

    According to the vector modal theory for rectangular-groove grating, the results of numerical calculation is given. We calculate the diffraction efficiency and polarization distribution of incident plane wave with arbitrary incident direction and polarization, and also study the effect of grating structural parameters (peroid, groove width,depth) on the diffration field.

    Experiment on multi-mode fibre used for light transmiting,sinusodial phase modulating F-P interferometry has been performed.It has been proved by using Fourier analysis of intensity signal that either fundermental frequence amplitude or phase of intensity imply some information about the change of cavity length (or optical path difference).Therefore a method of time duration measurement for measuring phase or fundermental frequence amplitude has been suggested. Analyses of the sensitivity thresholds measured with the present set-up show that the method and the set-up could be free of temperature drift and simplify the signal processing, hence be more suitable for the on-line measurement.

    By using laser fluorescence spectroscopy we measured the hyperfine structures of three second-step transitions(0 cm -1→1 6856 cm-1→34272 cm-1),(3010 cm-1→20082 cm-1→36853 cm-1),(3010 cm-1→20082 cm-1→37544 cm-1) in a La hollow cathode discharge lamp. The a coefficients of 34272 cm -1,36853 cm-1,and 37544 cm-1 levels have been calculated. The results given in this paper are first reported.

    By using Mie theory of light scattering, under different type of the Junge size distribution, the numberical calculations were carried out about the sensitivity of the ratio of aerosol extinction to backscatter, extinction and backscatter to real and imaginary parts of aerosol refractive index.     Exact dispersion relations and an analytic formula for calculating propagation constant and the power flux for TM guided waves at a nonlinear interface have been obtained.     The production, observation and thermostability of the zero-phonon lines of R2 center and 756.6 nm in colored KCl crystals and R2 center in colored KBr crystals are investigated in detail.     In this paper, spectral response characterization of New S25 and LEP photocathodes is studied. Influences of photocathode structure parameter,photoelectron escape depth and photocathode thickness on spectral response characterization are theoretically analysed. Its potentiality for practical trialkali photocathodes is calculated. It shows that to make trialkali photocathodes having the merits of New S25 and LEP photocathodes can compare with the NEA photocathodes on spectral response characterization.

    The Bi2S3 microcrystallites doped thin film with a significant quantum size effects has been successivelly prepared by the sol-gel process from the hydrolysis of a complex solution of Si (OC2H5 )4, Bi (NO3 )3. 5H2O and SC (NH2)2. The room temperature optical transmission spectra of the films heat-treated at 500℃ for 0~120min show the evidence of quantum size effects as the red-shift of the transmission valley with longer heating time. The optical second harmonic generation.(SHG) was also observed using a Nd:YAG colliding mode locked laser with the maxium intensity of 104 W/cm2.
