This paper deals with the transfer characteristics of paraboloidal mirror. Optical image processing system using single paraboloidal mirror is proposed. Experiments with coherent light, partially coherent light and white light processing, have proved the feasibility for the system. The practical significance for the system are discussed.

Fluorescence and laser characteristics of the sodium Salicylate in polar solvents have been studied systematically. Through comparing its emission spectra and the distribution of tunable laser energy it is found that there is a strong self-absorption of excited states in sodium Salicylate. The curves of fluorescence intensity via solution temperature are given for these kinds of solution. It was considered that these temperature responses are due to the flexible plane molecular structure of sodium Salicylate.

In this paper we report the principal refractive indices n0, n , and their thermal coefficients of LiNbO3 crystal doped with 5 mol % MgO. The principal refractive indices of the crystal have been measured by selfeolliniating method for the wavelengths of 0.5398 μm,0.6323 μm, 1.0795μm and 1.3414 μm in the temperature range of 20°-160℃. The thermal coefficients of the refractive index have been obtained at these wavelengths and constants of the modified Sellmeier's equations are also evaluated in the above mentioned temperature range. The results are used to the values obtained are in good agreement with the experimental results, similarly calculation of noncritical phase matching temperature for SHG gives a result which also agrees with the experimental result fairly well.

In this paper, the extrinsic scattering loss induced by the defects in fluoride fiber has been described in detail. The relationship among the extrinsic scattering; loss and the optical wavelength and size of defects has been discussed and some new concl usions have been drawn. These work leads to some directions for improving the fiber drawing technique and decreasing the fiber loss.

Intracavity frequency doubling of a home-made DH diode laser array (DH-LDA) pumped Nd:YAG laser at wavelength of 0.532μm was obatained. The green light output power was 0.6mW with doubling efficiency 2%. The stable output of doubled light in the pump condition of different duration and power with high repetition rate was observed by using the method of phase delaying. The threshold was theoretically analyzed, which agreed well with the experimental results.

The influence of the phase conjugation effect and the threshold effect of stimulated scattering on the divergence of stimulated scattering was discussed. Compared with the pumping beam, the divergence angles of stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in methanol, ethanol and acetone were reduced to a factor of 3.2, 3.0 and 2.4 while the pulse durations were compressed to 4.3, 4.3 and 2.6. The relation between the divergence angle of the stimulated Brillouin scattering and the pumping energy was obtained.

It is reported for the first time that highly stable and complete modulation self-mode looking pulse trains of the green and yellow light are obtained simultaneously in a longitudinal discharge OuBr laser. The effects of high-order transverse modes, pump power and the length of the resonator on the self-mode looking pulse trains and the frequency spectra of their modes have also been studied experimentally.

In the paper, stimulated Eaman scattering (SES) of birefringence fiber is studied in detail. 9-th order Stokes line of SES has been observed. The dependence of threshold and Baman shift on polarization of pumping light are discussed, The transmission loss of pumping light polarization along the direction of major or minor axis of fiber core are measured, SES gain coefficient of birefringence fiber is theoretically calculated with measured threshold.

Self-pumped phase eonjugation(SPPC) hag been observed in KNSBN:Co crystals with sizes different. The dependence of phase conjugate reflectivity has been proved not only on the incident angle and incident position, but also on the laser wavelengths by experiments. Their experimental plots are shown respectively. The large crystal produce up to 73.0% phase conjugate reflectivity at 514.5 nm. The dependence of phase conjugate formation time on input intensity is shown. During producing the phase conjugation, the character of both intensities of the transmitted beam and reflected beam of the crystal varying with the time is presented. The reason for producing threshold intensity is explained.

A novel technique of imaging a ultrasonic traveling wavefront has been developed. It is based on correlating interaction between modulated ultrasonic standing waves and ultrasonic traveling waves. The results of correlation imaging have been analysed and proved by experiments. A higher contrast image of the ultrasonic travefront has been obtained.

By utilizing an external Doppler dither modulation scheme, the frequency of the CO2 laser 10P(16) and 10P(18) lines are locked at the centers of the saturated absorption lines of SF6 molecules in an external absorption cell. The locked laser has a frequency fluctuations of some 7 kHz. The looked laser output has neither parasitic frequency modulation nor parasitic amplitude modulation. The stabilized frquency is independent of laser operating characteristics.

In this paper, the light scattering patterns of polyethylene spherulitea with concentric-circle extinction are examined by wide-angle laser scattering instrument. Based on the model of effective dipole moment and by moans of Fourier transform and diffraction grating principle, the causes of pattern formation are analysed and the twisted phenomena of lamellae are further discussed. The theoretical analysis is in agreement with the experimental result.

The near-Infrared photoluminescence spectroscopies of Ga0.5In0.5P epilayer grown on GaAs substrate by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) are measured. Three photoluminegcence peaks from deep levels are observed, and their peak energies are 1.17, 0.99 and 0.85eV, respectively. We further investigate the temperature dependence of the intensity, peak position and half width of the photoluminescence bands and discuss their origins.

The three-layer-film model for SnO2:F film with chorionic surfaces is suggested. Using the matrix of interface and the layer matrix representing the properties of propogation of plane waves, we have deduced the scattering matrix and the overall reflection coefficient of the three-layer structure and obtained the basic formula of the reflection ellipsometry. The dispersion relation and thickness of SnO2:F films with chorionic surfaces have been measured by using the spectroscopic reflection ellipsometry.
