Urban physical examination is an important means to assess and monitor the development status of a city, aiming to prevent and solve "urban diseases" and ensure the coordination of urban planning, construction and management. By conducting regular comprehensive checks on key indicators of the city, it is possible to deeply understand the "health" level of the city and promptly identify and eliminate those "risk factors" that may threaten the safety and development of the city. This paper, in combination with the guiding opinions of the state and various provinces and cities on carrying out urban physical examination work, takes Shaoxing urban area as an example, selects 14 evaluation indicators including urban road network, static traffic, public transportation and traffic safety in four aspects, and establishes a special urban traffic physical examination and evaluation system for Shaoxing urban area. Based on the expert scoring method, the weights of the indicators are determined, and finally an objective and comprehensive evaluation of the current traffic situation in Shaoxing urban area is made. For the indicators with lower comprehensive evaluation, suitable improvement suggestions are put forward.
