Linear Temperature Tuning of a Semiconductor Laser for Optogalvanic Spectroscopy
By changing the temperature of a semiconductor laser linearly and keeping the injection current constant, the frequency of a single mode laser can be continuously scanned up to 60 GHz. The spectrum of 2S-2P resonance transition of lithium, recorded by the method, even some hyperfine structure was clearly resolved.
