Design of Integrated S-band Ceramic Dielectric Filter
This study proposes a three-order dielectric filter design method using the CST 3D electromagnetic simulation software package. The transmission zero is generated by a cascade three-section (CT) cross-coupling structure between the source and second resonator, or load and third resonator to achieve high suppression requirements at higher frequencies. The second and third resonators’ open-end electrodes are connected to form a three-order filter structure to achieve low loss performance. The short-circuit end of the four resonators is shortened to expand the electrode debugging area to simplify filter debugging complexity. The integrated dielectric filter sample was fabricated using ceramic material with a dielectric constant of 45.99, and subsequently tested. The proposed dielectric filter had a 1 dB bandwidth of 117 MHz in the 2 084-2 104 MHz passband frequency range. The insertion loss (IL) was less than 1.2 dB, and the passband standing wave ratio was less than 1.28. The attenuation was 34.35 dB at a higher frequency of 2.2 GHz and 31.04 dB at a lower frequency of 1.6 GHz, and the size was 10.41 mm×3.7 mm×4.57 mm. Finally, it was confirmed that the test results were in good agreement with the simulation results.
