Experimental Study of the (Nd,Ce):YAG Slab Laser Using an Axis—asymmetric Positive Confocal Resonator with a lD Variable Reflectivity Mirror
An axis-asymmetric positive confocal resonator with a one-dimensional variable reflectivity mirror (1D VRM) for the (Nd,Ce):YAG slab laser is proposed and compared experimentally with the plane-plane resonator and the positive confocal resonator with a rotationally-symmetrical variable reflectivity mirror (2D VRM). It has been shown that the 1D VRM positive confocal resonator is suitable for slab lasers because both output efficiency and beam quality can be improved.
