The concept of holistic education emphasizes the comprehensive development and harmonious unity of individuals in physical, psychological, moral, intellectual and other aspects. Guided by this concept, mental health education for students majoring in ophthalmology and optometry in vocational colleges is particularly important. As a discipline that intersects medicine and engineering, students in this major not only need solid professional knowledge but also require a healthy psychological state and good moral accomplishment. Therefore, integrating ideological and political education into mental health education aims to cultivate students' social responsibility, professional ethics and healthy personality. By deepening students' understanding and practice of socialist core values, guided students to master professional skills while growing into high-quality talents with both moral integrity and ability, contributing to the development of social health undertakings.
