The supply and demand of methanol in China are unbalanced, and there is a significant demand for cross regional transportation. Therefore, the development of long-distance methanol transportation pipelines is essential. The safety issues of long-distance methanol pipelines have also attracted people's attention. Related research was conducted on the corrosion and aging of metal materials by methanol, analyzing the mechanism and influencing factors of methanol corrosion and swelling. Through practical cases, the impact of methanol on stress corrosion cracking of long-distance pipelines was explored, and the problems and future prospects for the development of methanol long-distance pipelines were proposed.
