Dual-Wavelength Optical Fiber Polarimetric Sensor for Simultaneous Measurement of Strain and Temperature

    A dual wavelength polarimetric sensor for the simultaneous measurement of strain and temperature was demonstrated using a bow tie fiber. In the measurement range of 500 μm and 70℃ the maximum errors are ±8 μm and ±2.5℃, respectvely. The sensor has a good stability because only orthogonally fundamental modes are used.
