Competition Between Amplified Spontaneous Emission and Parametric Four-wave Mixing in Barium Vapor
The amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) and parametric four-wave-mixing (PFWM) in barium vapor are studied under the experimental conditions of two-photon resonance. The mechanisms responsible for this competition can be attributed to the destructive interference between ASE and PFWM.
