It has been proved on the basis of the formula for coherent object images that when the far field distribution of the original optical beam will be reconstructed whoa the laser beam passes through a homogeneously distributed circular aperture grating. Thus the circular aperture grating can be used as the attenuator in laser beam measurement. Experiments showed that when circular aperture grating was used as the attenuator, its error was less than 1.7%。
