Determination of ultrashort light pulse shape by single-delay 3rd- and 4th- order intensity correlations

    The method for obtaining ultrashort light pulse shape based on Fourier transform by measuring the third-and fourth- order correlation functions T3(τ), T4(τ) is presented The T3(τ) and T4(τ) of the pulse from apassi-vely mode-locked YAG laser is measured experimentally by means of optical kerr shutter. The effect of the symmetry of the pulse on the recovery of the pulse shape is also discussed.
