In order to meet the development needs of the buried pipeline industry, CiteSpace and VOSviewer literature analysis software were used to conduct knowledge graph analysis on relevant domestic and foreign literature in this field from multiple perspectives such as output time, keyword co-occurrence clustering graph, keyword frequency, centrality, timeline graph, author and unit. Based on this, development trend prediction, pipeline safety evaluation, and innovative research were carried out. The results indicate that the academic community had given long-term high attention to buried pipelines. The research field of buried pipelines was extensive in foreign countries, with a focus on detecting corrosion leaks. The domestic research focus was relatively concentrated, with early emphasis on protective research and current emphasis on defect detection research, which was mainly related to the basic situation and policies of buried pipelines at home and abroad. At present, domestic research is relatively mature and stable, and a professional research team has been formed. In the future, the field of buried pipelines will still have high research enthusiasm and development space. This field shows significant research potential in data processing technologies such as multimodal joint detection, signal feature highlighting, and the development of automatic detection vehicles.
