Laser inter-satellite link is used for high-precision measurement and high-speed data transmission between satellites. It is a crucial technology to build a space-based information network. Presently, foreign satellite systems such as communication, remote sensing, navigation, and relay have planned to deploy laser communication terminals. Laser inter-satellite link technology has developed from on-orbit demonstration and verification to large-scale networking applications. This paper briefly combs the development of laser inter-satellite link terminal technology of existing networking satellite systems in the world, and summarizes the technical strategy and terminal classification of laser inter-satellite link. The development status of laser inter-satellite link terminal technology in China and the main problems faced by the large-scale application are emphatically analyzed, and solutions to key and difficult technologies are considered; Finally, the future development trend of laser inter-satellite link terminals has prospected, especially the development trend of lightweight design and implementation, broadband, one to many optical antennas and networking technologies.
