In order to explore the reproduction mechanism of sports industry policies of Chinese provincial governments, this paper uses a word embedding model to map words in policy texts into a high-dimensional vector space, capturing semantic similarities and contextual relationships between words. This approach enables the efficient extraction of key information and hidden patterns from policy texts. After a preliminary analysis of the semantic structure of the policy texts, the study further applies the fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (FsQCA) method to examine combinations of antecedents, such as policy adoption speed, local economic level, population size, market governance capacity, and horizontal pressure, revealing the comprehensive impact of different combinations of factors on the policy reproduction mechanism. The results indicate a nonlinear correlation between policy adoption speed and the degree of policy content reproduction, exhibiting an inverted U-shaped curve, with an inflection point at approximately 2.3 years. FsQCA conditional configuration analysis shows that high policy reproduction results from multiple factors, and no single factor can be a necessary or sufficient condition on its own. This study offers practical insights from the perspective of provincial governments'policy reproduction in the sports industry.
