Comparative Study on the Determination of Chromium Content in Fertilizer Using Atomic Absorption Spectrometry and Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry
Atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) are employed to determine the chromium content in fertilizer. Method ological evaluations are conducted in terms of limit of detection, precision, and the spiked recovery rates. The results show that the limit of detection for AAS is 20 μg/L, with a relative standard deviation (RSD) of 0.92%-1.38% and the spiked recovery rate of 95.35%-95.80%. For ICP-AES, the limit of detection is 10 μg/L, with an RSD of 0.35%-0.86% and the spiked recovery rate of 96.60%-97.60%. Both methods can accurately determine the content of heavy metal chromium in fertilizers.
