Optometry is the core course of optometry, but there are some problems in the teaching process, such as lagging teaching content, lack of practical skills, poor students' autonomous learning ability and insufficient exploration of the ideological and political elements.Therefore, the course requires in-depth teaching reform to meet the needs of the country and industry. This course should adhere to the educational requirements of three comprehensiveness according to the orientation of the school and the characteristics of the course content, put forward teaching reform measures such as updating the course content, integrating the elements of ideological and political education, and reforming the practice teaching form to improve students' comprehensive ability.
