Experimental studies of intracavity Raman laser
Experimental studies of intracavity Raman laser are presented in this paper. The first Stokes pulse output with pulse width of less than 6ns is produced by placing a methane gas cell at high pressure inside closed resonator of a pulsed Nd:YAG laser. The cell sealed windows simultaneously act as the functions of focusing and collimating lens, which has reduced bulk of the laser and wastage inserted in the cavity. The lasing threshold at 1.54 μm of 3.9 J and the overall energy efficiency of 0.26% of the system are obtained. The test of the Raman laser life was conducted.
