To further increase the bed depth, improve sintering quality, and reduce process energy consumption, thick-layer sintering cup tests were conducted and industrial trials were carried out. The test results consistently demonstrate that thick-layer sintering significantly enhances the physical properties of the sintered ore, including strength and grain size, thereby improving the overall blast furnace feeding rate and reducing process energy consumption. Statistical analysis of production data during the industrial trials showed an average annual bed depth of 973 mm, representing a 45 mm year-on-year increase, with the bed depth exceeding 1 000 mm for three consecutive months. After implementing thick-layer sintering, the overall blast furnace feeding rate increased by 2.06%, solid fuel consumption decreased by 0.35 kg/t, and COG consumption decreased by 0.71 m3/t, demonstrating significant economic and social benefits.
