Transdermal Diffusion Behavior of Jojoba Oil in Recombinant Collagen Care Cream
The fatty acid compositions of a recombinant collagen care cream and jojoba oil were qualitatively analyzed using gas chromatography (GC), with quantitative analyses performed via the peak area normalization method. A total of 7 fatty acid components were identified in jojoba oil, with cis-11-eicosenoic acid, oleic acid, and erucic acid selected as its characteristic components. The transdermal capability of jojoba oil in the recombinant collagen care cream was investigated through in vitro percutaneous penetration test using the Franz diffusion cell method. Results showed that only one fatty acid component was detected in the transdermal receptor fluid, indicating no significant difference in fatty acid content or composition between the test group and the control group. In summary, jojoba oil exerts moisturizing and reparative effects on the stratum corneum but cannot penetrate this barrier to enter systemic circulation.
