Design of a New Multi-Function Centimeter Wave Frequency Synthesizer

    This paper proposes a novel multifunctional centimeter-wave frequency synthesizer. The proposed synthesizer, for the first time, moves the continuous wave (step:1 MHz), conventional pulse, double frequency jitter, double frequency stagger, double pulse, agile frequency conversion signal, group variable signal, two-phase coding, and linear frequency modulation signals from direct digital synthesis (DDS) to 0.8-18 GHz frequency band via phase-locked frequency doubling. The overall size of the device is 76 mm×70 mm×10 mm, and its volume is approximately one-twentieth that of the traditional frequency synthesizer. Thus, it affords the advantages of a wide working band, high frequency, and small size.
