High Average Power Double Frequency Operation of Nd:YAG Rod Lasers Side Pumped by Diode Arrays

    Intracavity-frequency-doubledwith KTP, A-O Q-switched diode-side-pumped Nd:YAG laser was developed. The Nd:YAG laser was pumped by 35×15-W cw diode arrays andgenerated maximum average power of 56 W at 532nm with 10-kHz repetition rate. Theoptical-to-optical conversion efficiency and the electrical-to-optical conversionefficiency are 11% and 3.7%, respectively.
