The wavelengthconversion by nondegenerate four-wave mixing in a tunable semiconductor-fiber ring laserusing the lasing beam as a pump beam is demonstrated. Because of the continuous tunableand high power of the ring laser, a wide range up-conversion of 13.8 nm has been abtainedat 2.5 Gbit/s.
