Synthesis and Luminescence Properties of Eu3+-Doped Ca8Zn(SiO4)4Cl2 Red Phosphors
A series of Ca8Zn(SiO4)4Cl2: Eu3+red phosphors were prepared by sol-gel method. The as-prepared samples Ca8Zn(SiO4)4Cl2: Eu3+were tested by the X-ray powder diffraction(XRD) and photoluminescence spectrometer. The effects of sintering temperature and content of Eu3+ on the emission intensity of the sample were investigated. The results show that the phosphors can be efficiently excited in a near-ultraviolet(NUV) light of 393 nm.The most intensive emission intensity of the Ca8Zn(SiO4)4Cl2: Eu3+ phosphors, which is prepared at the sintering temperature of 800 ℃ and the Eu3+ doping concentration of 5.0 mol%, can be obtained. The chromaticity coordinates of the Ca8Zn(SiO4)4Cl2: Eu3+ phosphors are(0.684, 0.316), which is near the standard value of red phosphor(x =0.670, y =0.330).Ca8Zn(SiO4)4Cl2: Eu3+ is a promising red phosphor for white-LED.
