Optometry and fitting major is a discipline based on rigorous medical knowledge. It not only requires students to master professional knowledge, but also needs students to learn and master professional skills through practice. This article analyzes the problems existing in the talent cultivation of optometry and fitting major, researches the strategy of practical education, and draws the conclusion through the analysis of the implementation effects of the practical education strategy, that the practical education strategy with students as the main body and combining with the professional characteristics can effectively improve students’ professional literacy and skill level, which meets the requirements of current talent cultivation.
