Comprehensive Experimental Design for Inactivating Surface Microorganisms by Atmospheric Pressure Low-Temperature Plasma
Surface microbial inactivation is a long-term social demand, and low-temperature plasma inactivation of surface microorganisms is a hot research topic in surface microbial inactivation. Aiming at the hot spot, the latest research results of a new type of low-temperature plasma disinfection and sterilization are introduced into the comprehensive experiment of environmental engineering. In our comprehensive experiment, SARS-CoV-2 (2019-nCoV) Spike pseudo virus is selected as inactivated object, and the research on the inactivation of object surface microorganisms by atmospheric pressure low-temperature plasma is carried out. The main research conclusions show the disinfection and sterilization efficiency of bacteria can reach 99% within an action time of less than 14 s. While the action time for SARS-CoV-2 (2019-nCoV) Spike pseudo virus with an inactivation efficiency of over 99% is relatively longer, which is 1 min at 23 ℃ and 4 ℃, and 3 min at ?20 ℃. The results show that atmospheric pressure low temperature plasma technology is suitable for the inactivation of surface microorganisms such as food packaging in the cold chain industry. The introduced experiment can improve the students’ ability to carry out experiments on low-temperature plasma and environmental engineering microbiology, and also stimulate their enthusiasm and interest in experimental science.
