Study on typical galvanic corrosion risk between Zn-Al-Mg alloy coated steel plate and different materials
Zn-Al-Mg coated steel plates are widely used in various manufacturing industries, and they are always coupled with dissimilar materials. The purpose of the work is to evaluate and analyze the galvanic corrosion risk between Zn-Al-Mg coated steel and different materials using salt spray testing and electrochemical potential measurements. The results indicate that the risk of galvanic corrosion between Zn-Al-Mg coated steel plate and different materials such as 304 stainless steel, 410 stainless steel, aluminum, Zn-Ni coating, and composite coating is relatively low, allowing them to be directly coupled. However, when Zn-Al-Mg coated steel is in contact with Zn coating or copper, there is a higher risk of galvanic corrosion. If Zn-Al-Mg coated steel must be combined with Zn coating or copper, careful evaluation is required, and appropriate protective measures should be implemented if necessary. The risk of galvanic corrosion between Zn-Al-Mg coated steel plates and different materials is evaluated, providing valuable guidance for material selection optimization and risk avoidance of Zn-Al-Mg coated steel plates in practical applications.
