Effects of chromium ion concentration on the threshold and output energy of dye Q-switehed ruby lasers
It is shown that there is always a minimum on the threshold-concentration plot for dye Q-switched ruby lasers, which increases with the increasing ratio of cavity loss to ruby length and decreases with the increasing ruby diameter. Efficiency of the Q-switched ruby device increases with chromium concentration in a considerably wide range.
