Tea is an important economic crop in China. The development of tea planting and processing plays an important role in promoting economic development, rural poverty reduction and rural revitalization. As an important factor of light, light quality directly affects the growth and quality of tea plant. Understanding the response of tea plant to light quality stimulus is of great significance to the efficient development of tea industry. Studies have shown that light quality has a complex superposition effect and dose effect on the growth and quality formation of tea plants. It produces different stimulation effects at different developmental stages of callus growth and differentiation, and has complex biological effects on post-harvest processing. This paper summarizes the physiological, biochemical and molecular response mechanisms of light quality on the growth and development, asexual reproduction and processing of tea plants, aiming to provide a theoretical basis for light quality to promote high-quality growth, efficient breeding and quality improvement of tea plants.
