A Study of Change of Polarization Properties of Human Skin with Its Structural Parameters
In this paper, based on a simplified dermis model of cylinder-birefringence, the variation ofpolarization properties of human skin with its structural parameters was studied. To the best of our knowledge, for the first time, the birefringence parameters of human skin measured by polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography system was used to analyze the changes of bire- fringence, dichroism and depolarization with the change of structural parameters. The results ofthis study are important for inter- preting the results ofpolarization experiments, diagnosing human skin diseases and monitoring the effects oftreatment in vivo.
