This paper has reviewed the development history of laser glass in China since its invention in 1961.The properties and applications of several commercial Nd:phosphate high power laser glasses used in facility of inertial confinement fusion have been described.The performance of rare earth ions doped multi-component glass fibers applied in generation and amplification of laser has been introduced.
