In order to stUdy and animate the transient characteriStics of an intermittent sptayin one shot injection,a novel article sizer was designed.A detector array of a conventionalparticle sizer based on Fraunhofer diffraction was uest and a high-resolution and a timeresolved particle sizer had been made.The time-dependent characteristics of a spray in oneshot were analyzed.

    In order to improve the near field uniformity of the "SG Ⅱ"laser beam, we haveproposed and designed a special beam,called flat-top centered dip beam.The beam isgenerated by a combination of a hard edge serrated aperture and a spatial filter.In the paperthe calculated results and the inveStigated characteristics of the designed beam are alsogiven.

    Combining DFWM theory of speedily amplitude- modulated beams inphotorefractive crystal with the model of two-interaction regions for the mutually pumpedphase conjugntor(MPPC),a theory of bird-wing MPPC(BWMPPC) for speedilyamplitude-modulated beams is given.Some important parameters(Conjugate reflectivity,transmittivity and fanning-coefficient) are obtained by numerical methods.Theexperimental result shows that the characteristic of a MPPC coincides with that predicted bythe theory.

    This paper presents an infrared optical system.Two infrared optical beams, oneof which is from a tunable Pb1-xSnxTe diode laser,and the other from a pulsed GaAs/GaAlAs diode laser,were focused at the same spot of a sample.The dimension of theinfrared spot was measured to be about 250 μm in diameter.The profiles of the stable-antephotoconductive response and the minority carrier lifetime of a narrow band Hg1-xCdxTe were studied.

    In this paper,a new class of comb-shaped optical fiber sensor is described.Thelinear relation between transmission power and strain of the sensor is introduced.Experimental result of the sensor is in agreement with the theory.In the meantime,singularity, stability,and reproducibility of the sensor are studied.

    In this peper,a circuit theory model for the discharge circuit of "ShenGuang"FaCility,the caculated results for pontentials which are obtained on the basis of the theorymodel,a special pontential measuring circuit and the measured results are reported.Thecaculated results are in good agreement with the measured ones. All reported in this paperare very important,especially,the circuit model and the special measuring circuit are theprincipal means to improve the discharge circuit structure and to analyse and resolve the electromagnetic interference in “Shen Guang” Facility.

    A system for real-time object recognition by combining joint transform correlationwith wavelet transform is built up.The system can perform preprocessing and correlation ina single step.It has some good features,such as the high capability of anti-backgroundnoise,sharp correlation Peak,and without sidelobe,etc.

    A study on spatial frequency response of silver halide gelatin holograms derivedfrom Tianjin-I plate of China is carried out experimentally.When the frequency is limitedwithin 500~800 lines/mm,the holograms with higher than 70% peak diffractionefficiency are obtained.In addition,with one-step dehydration of the gelatin hologramsiusted of the three-step used usually,the holograxns with high difftaction efficiency canalso be obtained.In this paper,the making procedure and the experimental results of the holograms are presented, and the reason that only one-step dehydration is necessary is explained.

    The influence of methylene blue(MB) concentration on the diffraction efficiencyof holographic transmission grating,in which the gelatin film is sensitized with MB(MBG),is investigated.A maximum diffraction efficiency of 97% is obtained in MBG expored to aHe-Ne laser (632.8 urn) and developed with a simple post-processing method under normalcondition.

    To our Knowledge,it is the first report of the observation of self-Q switched Self-mode-locking directly generated in a self-mode-lcoked Ti:sapphire laser.The self-Q switched period was observed with a nearly linear dependence on the distance between one spherical mirror M3 and the closer face of the laser rod.

    A theory of self-mode-locking of Ti:sapphire laser is described. A nonlinearABCD matrix,derived from the aberrationless theory of self-focusing, is introduced to treatthe propagation of Gaussian beams in materials with Kerr nonlinearity,showing that selffocusing in the laser rod leads to modification of the Gaussian beam parameters either in therod or on the resonator mirrors.An optimum resonator design for Kerr-lens-mode-lockingwith(or without) hard-aperture is given.A theoretical prediction is confirmed by the experimental result.

    By using a 4-mirror ring cavity and choosing the appropriate direction of the Nd:YAP rod,the laser polarizability and the influence of the thermal effect on laser insidethe cavity have been improved.The single frequency output up to 1.2 W has been obtainedwith the input POwer of 1.2 kW,the fluctuation is less than 2%,and the long termfrequency stability is better than ±0.4 MHz.

    This paper gives an analytic gain formula of variable parameter FEL with a novelWiggler which was proposed by Shlomo Pinhas.The result provides a theoretical basis forstudying how the gain curve of this new type of free electron laser is changed when thevariable parameter changes.

    Stuning from the conclusions of the quantum theory of broadband StimulatedRarnan Forward Scattering(SRFS),this poper presents the principle of point correlation,by which the mechanism of improving the performance of broad-band Raman hamcombining with wave-guide is shown, and analyses the influence of the initial opticalparameters of pump beams and wave-guide on the efficiency of the beam-combining in usualRaman beam-combining scheme.After the analysis, a theoretical arrangement scheme ofbeam-combining is presented. Finally a discussion is given about the correctness of our conclusions from the latest Raman beam-combining results. It is believed that this principle can give a better explanation to the process of beam-combining with wave-guide.
