In this paper, the measurement on the ground state recovery time of dye by pump and probe method is analysed and the conclusions obtained previously are modified. A new method is presented by which the single pulse measurement result is obtained from the mode-looked pulss train, and the ground state recovery times of BDN dye in different solvents are measured.

    The measurement of 2.5kW CO2 laser beam's far-field intensity distribution in one dimesion and its divergence by scanning the beam across a wire probe are discribed, and the dependence of the resolution and the error of the system on the structure parameters are analysed.

    Fast switching in the ZnS interference filter at room temperature with the method of CW + P are reported, The samples were excited with a CW Ar+ laser as the holding light and a pulsed Nd: YAG frequency-doubled laser beam as the exciting light. The switching time is 300 ns and the conditions for realizing fast switching are analysed theoretically.

    We report here in the deposition of manganese and tungsten thin films by 308 nm XeCl excimer laser induced photolys is of manganese pentacarbonyl dimer Mn2(CO)10 and tungsten hexacarbonyls W(CO)6 respectively. The dependence of the features of the thin film on the; experimental parameters has been studied.

    Based on the transmission theory of the elliptioal Gaussian beam, transmission equations of the threshold beam spot of laser weapon simulators were derived, which modify and expand the expressions of the threshold beam spot, the maximum range, the extinction function and the irradiance in ADA 102276, and the verification tests were made.

    In the stable regions for the operation of solid state lasers there are two kinds of stable dynamic states: steady-mode operation states and steady-power operation states, which are insensitive to thermo-pertttfbation. The former corresponds to the thermo-stable resonator for steady mode; the latter-the thermo--stable resonator for steady power.

    This paper presents a theoretical study of the tunability of frequency selective filter extended cavity semiconductor lasers. From the lasing condition of the equivalent model, we derive a simple expression determining the maximum tuning range and propose a computing method for calculating the tuning curve at any feedback level. We also explain several experimental observations reported recently.

    Based on the density matrix, we derived the Blooh-like dynamic equations of three-level atoms driven by two optical pulses, then analyzed them with numerical solutions. We have also examined the time dependences of the atomic populations and ion production. Particular attention has been paid to the relationships between the ion production and the dynamic parameters, such as pulse amplitude, relatively retarded time, frequency detunning and ionization rate.

    In order to obtain high efficient SHG- in fibers, a new method of two-stage laser preparation was used to prepare Er8+ doped silica fibers. The maximum peak power conversion efficiency measured was 8.8%. The length dependence of frequency-doubled light in Br3+-doped silica fibers was studied, and the mechanism of high efficient SHG in Er3+ dopod silica fibers was discussed. The experimental results showed that the pulss width of SH light is 0.7 times as long as that of IB light and that the 8H power is qnadratically dependent on the IR power in short fibers,and confirmed that the SH light is generated through a second-order nonlinear process.

    The 670.7 nm coherent radiation was obtained by SHG of 1341.4 nm Nd:YAP laser in LiIO3 crystal and 447.1 nm blue coherent radiation was obtained by frequency summing in the KTP crystal. The values of phase matching angle and effectnoalinear coefficient were calculated for the mentioned nonlinear optical prosesses. The experimental results are in good agreement with calculation.

    In this paper we report for the first time the observation of self-pumped phase conjugation, in KNbO3:Fe at 632.8nm He-Ne laser wavelength. We note the coupling coefficient decreases with working wavelength in photorefractive materials. Our experiments were carried out with the crystal specially cut to bring the largest electro-optic coefficient r42 and total internal reflection on the inner surfaces. The reflectivity of 40% for self-pumped phase conjugation at 632.8 nm was obtained.

    We report herein the high order Stokes lines induced by SRS in ethylbenzen core optical fiber. Each Stokes lines has its abnormal broadening mainly in red shift. The broadened Stokes lines form a superbroad coherent spectra covering a band from 562.1 nm to 700 nm.

    The LIF spectrum of A2+(v=0) level of NO molecule has been studied by one-photon excitation. Twelve vibrational bands of A2+(v= 0-11) transition were observed. By using the method of two-step excitation, we studied for the first time the LIF spectrum in UV region after the E2+(v=0) energy level was excited. The vibrational bands directly from E2+(v=0) level to ground state X2H were obviously measured.

    Taking graphite cathode as an example, the transverse discharge characteristics of a self heated cathode are described. It is indicated that the cathode mechanism is hot electron emission.

    Photophysical and photochemical properties of fifteen benzoxazole fluorescent whitening agenta in N, N'-dimethylformamide (DMP) have been measured. Their fluorescence quantum yields were all over 0.64. Except three compounds containing biphenyl structure, the rest had laser action with laser conversion effieiencies between 9.5% and 22.4%.Photochemical stabilities of them were better and might be used as laser dyes in ultraviolet and near ultraviolet band.
