Self-pumped phase conjugation in KNbO3:Fe at 632.8 nm

    In this paper we report for the first time the observation of self-pumped phase conjugation, in KNbO3:Fe at 632.8nm He-Ne laser wavelength. We note the coupling coefficient decreases with working wavelength in photorefractive materials. Our experiments were carried out with the crystal specially cut to bring the largest electro-optic coefficient r42 and total internal reflection on the inner surfaces. The reflectivity of 40% for self-pumped phase conjugation at 632.8 nm was obtained.
