Comparing the LIF spectrum produced by light beams at two wavelengths 457.9 and 476.5nm of Ar+ laser, we suggest a new possible mechanism for generating K2 diffusion band and show that tho excited triplet states of K2 can also be used as an energy reservoir under certain conditions.

    The basic principle of photo-thermal optical beam deflection is described, A new method for measuring the characteristic parameters of focused laser beam and the focal length of the focusing lens by photothermal optical beam deflection method is introduced. The radius and position of waist spot of CO2 laser beam focused by a single Ge lens were measured experimentally, and the focal length of the Ge lens was determined. The result is in agreement with that obtained in practice.

    New experimental results of depositing metal mm by faser- induced surface chemical reaction is reported. By CW CO2 laser illumination, the rtaction between Ni2O3 on silicon surface and silicon substrate was induced, Nickel film was deposited on silicon surface, and a quasi MOS structural film of Ni-SiO2-Si was formed by one step teratment. AES, X-ray diffraction, BBS, square resistance meter etc. were taken to analyze the composition and the characteristics of the film and the mechanism of its growth was discussed.

    The retina of 44 eyes of 22 chinchilla rabbits were irradiated by pulsed dye laser light at three different wavelengthes(520 nm, 590 nm, 630 nm) to compare the reactions of acute biological effect respectively.

    The pumping efficiency and uniformity of triangular reflectors are investigated as functions of various geometrical parameters by a two-dimensional ray tracing program, and an optimal structure which provides uniform face-pumping for solid-state slab laser medium is given. The calculations are basically in agreement with the experimental results.

    A method was developed to detect the magnetic field signal and the laser frequency drift with the same photodetectors and preamplifiers in a ring laser system for magnetic field measurement. A digital steady-state error-free frequency stabilizer used in the system is described in detail. An accuracy of 2×10-5±1 Hz in the measurement of beat frequency arisen from a magnetic field and a laser frequency stability of 5×10-9 for an averaging time of 1 sec were obtained.

    Air-sealing mechanism are described and the molecular interdiffusion egua-tions are derived in a throttle-exhausting aerodynamic laser window (TEALW). The diffusion rate of He, N2, CO2 snd O2 in the active medium of the CO2 laser used with TEALW were computed by of the equations. The theoretical curves computed are in good agreement with the experimental data.

    The dynamic behavior of the atom and field has been discussed in detail in prooess of multiphoton interaction of a two-level atom with a single-mod thermal radiation field. It is pointed out that in this model it is impossible to have photon antibunching effect, sub-poissonian distribution, and squeezed state in the field and no non-elassioal effect can exist in the field based on criterion of non-classical state of light.

    In terms of the dependence of non-linear susceptibility to polarization states of light fields,six kinds of combination existing among the above polarization states in stimulated four-photon mixing are put forward, analysis of the effect of polarization combination on the birefringence phase-matching is given according to the coupling theory and the frequency shifts for stimulated four-photon mixing in bended fibers are calculated. The explanation for "double-line" radiation under these modal combinations and the frequency fluctuation with the birefringence is given.
