The dual-stage L-band EDFA is optimized. At first, we make a simulation about the effect to the L-band EDFA by change of the proportion of EDF length of each stage by OptiAmplifier4.0 with other factors unchanged. Then we make a further optimization to the pump power of each stage to obtain the intrinsic flat gain spectrum as wide as possible. Based on that a experiment with a 42 meter long EDF is made, with the outcomings as follows: the ASE spectrum is from 1566.84 nm to 1606.80 nm within 3dB bandwidth, which is about 40nm,Within the L~~band spectrum, the small signal gain is about 25dB,Noise figure is about 5dB.

A 3D SPIHT algorithm is proposed to deal with the compression of hyperspectral images, In order to eliminate the intraband and interband dependencies, 3D discrete wavelet transform is used to decorrelate the hyperspectral images. After transform, Said and Pearlman's SPIHT algorithm is used to code the wavelet coefficients. The spatial orientation trees of the wavelet coefficients are three-dimensional, so a 3D SPIHT algorithm is constructed to suitably compress the hyperspectral images. The test results show that the 3D SPIHT algorithm based on 3D DWT for hyperspectral images compression is very efficient, the algorithm is embedded and has modest complexity

One-dimensional pre-mixed model for a COIL, in which the iodine molecular was substituted by iodine atomic, was established. Atomic iodine is generated via a series of chemical reactions of ClO2. NO and HI. The dependence of the vield of the intermediate atomic chlorine on total pressure was studied, as well as the influence of HI injection position on the yield of atomic iodine. The small signal gains both of the COIL with molecular and atomic iodine injection were compared. The system of atomic iodine injection is promising to increase the output power of COIL.

Studies have been made on quantum communications using single particle as the information carrier and the expression of the quantum bit error rate (QBER) of the sifted key established between Alice and Bob has been deduced when there exists an angle deference between the directions of Alice's basis and Bob's basis. To tackle the stringent requirements on the angle difference, we propose to construct a universal direction to guide the bases of the sender and the receiver

We use a second order perturbation expansion of the evolution operator T to deduce the efficiency Hamiltonian form of two nonidentical atoms in a highly-detuned optics cavity with single mode;the two nonidentical atoms state vector with time evolution is studied under the initial state in a two-atom direct product in a vacuum optical cavity. The result shows as follow: (1) the two-atom state vector keep a direct state form and do not produce any entangled state under the condition |△1-△2| 〉〉 max(g1,g2) or △1+△2=0,(2) the two-atom state vectors evolve into the entangled state from the initial state in a direct state, and realize a maximal entangled state at a given time under the condition |△1-△2|〈〈max(g1,g2).

The quadrature squeezing spectra produced in the resonance fluorescence of a two-level atom driven by a strong coherent field and a weak amplitude-fluctuating field are investigated. For far-off-resonance and strong excitation, the resonance fluorescence exhibits two-mode squeezing around the Rabi sideband frequencies. Thus we have a source of two- mode squeezing that is verv easily frequency tuned simply by adjusting the generalized Rabi frequency. The presence of the strength of the stochastic process reduces the degree of squeezing obtainable. The quadrature squeezing spectra are also effected by the relative phase of the two fields.

The dynamical properties of two spatially coupled multi-mode lasers are investigated theoretically. When the loss of the system is modulated, the total intensities of the two lasers show perfect chaotic synchronization within certain parameter range. The intensities of the corresponding modes also show chaotic synchronization. While for different modes, the intensities are totally chaotic. The intensities of the modes in the lasers show mode competition. The phase and phase difference in each mode show very interesting relations. There is some link between the chaotic synchronization of intensities and phases.

Particles sampled directly from the exhaust pipes of a number of vehicles were analyzed using aerosol time-of-flight mass spectrometry (ATOFMS) in real time. Both organic and inorganic chemical species including sodium, calcium, CnHm were observed in individual exhaust particles. Preliminary results suggest that it might be possible to use calcium in combination with more specific organic peaks as a marker for automobile exhaust particles. ATOFMS can also be used as a real-time monitor, characterizing particles produced from vehicles. Furthermore, determination of chemical tracers in individual exhaust particles allows for more accurate source allocation of atmospheric particles.

A vectorial effective index method is used to design photonic crystal fibers with flattened dispersion around 800 nm. The dispersion of photonic crystal fibers is obtained by the sum of material dispersion and waveguide dispersion, and the latter can be varied by the scaling property. The flattened dispersion is designed to be around the operating wavelength of the widely used Ti: sapphire femtosecond lasers, holding much promise for the study of propagation of ultrashort laser pulses in such fibers.

Under the influence of intrapulse Raman scattering, the interactions between in-phase and out-phase high-order solitons are investigated numerically, and the impacts of soliton interactions to timing jitter and the impacts of Raman effects to soliton frequency shift are analyzed, respectively. It is found that under the influence of intrapulse Raman scattering, in-phase and out-phase soliton pairs are both split. Two split solitons will collide with each other during the propagation and they will be apart from each other after the collision. The difference between in-phase and out-phase soliton pair exists that the interactions of out-phase is weaker than that of in-phase soliton pair and the collision distance of out-phase is much longer than that of in-phase soliton pair. A nonlinear gain can be used to effectively suppress soliton interactions and the effects of intrapulse Raman scattering, and stabilize the soliton propagation

Based on Galois theory of definite field, using the square prime sequence, the code function of basic prime code is modified and extended. The auto-correlation and crosscorelation of MSPC, which based on square prime sequence, are analyzed in detail. The maximum auto and cross correlation are 2 and 1 respectively. And then, going through reconstructing the prime sequence and code function, a novel signature code, ESPC has been acquired. Compared to basic OPCs derived from linear prime sequence, the maximum value of auto-correlation of ESPC is reduced from p - 1 to 1 and cross-correlation is reduced from 2 to 1. the ratio of auto-correlation peak to sideband has largely enhanced, which ensures a better system performance and is more advantageous in signal detection

The high accuracy radiometric calibration method and technology is one of the primary technologies of modern remote sensing. Spectral radiance standard detector is a key unit of the new high-accuracy radiometric caliSration technology, and has potential applications in radiometric calibration of field, air-borne and space-borne sensors. The temperature change of spectral radiance standard det.ector is a primary factor of affecting its precision and stability. In order to keep the high accuracy of standard detector, a high-accuracy temperature-controlling device is needed to develop. We introduced a new digital thermometer DS18B20 in detail and designed a high-accuracy temperature controlling devices based on DS18B20. The experiment results prove that the temperature-controlling devices we designed can effectively decrease the temperature coefficient of spectral radiance standard detector and is reliable.

Exactlv measurement of the fluctuation of the atmosphere refractivity is important for the research on the optical property of atmosphere an and it's application on the environmental detection. A theoretical model of measuring the fluctuation of the atmosphere refractivity using the near-field optical method is proposed: The surface plasmon resonance effect of the metal is stimulated by the internal total reflection. As a result the propagation mode will be induced in the planar waveguide. The point of the maximum slope in the curve of attenuated internal total reflection is selected as the angular of the incident beam. The variation of the intensity of the reflection beam demonstrates the variation of the refractivity of the atmosphere. The precision achieved using the numerical simulation is 0.000005.

Light scattering by particles is an important part of optical test. The T-matrix method is widely used for the computations of light scattering by particles. The most prevalent way to calculating T-matrix is the extended boundarv condition method (EBCM), which, however, is largely limited to axisymmetric and near-spherical particles. A new method for calculating the T-matrix is presented. It integrates directly on the particle surface and converts the integral to the summation by meshing the surface with a series of triangles. This method enables us to calculate light scattering by non-axisymmetric and even more realistically shaped particles
