Based on the equivalent cavity model,the threshold characteristics of an fiber grating external cavity semiconductor laser(FGECL) are investigated by the multi-parameter optimization of two antireflection and high reflection coatings,and the external-cavity length,and the results of the multi parameter optimization are compared with that of the single-parameter optimization. To obtain the lowest threshold current needs the cost of the reduction of the slope efficiency(namely,the efficiency of electrooptical conversion) and the power of the output light so that the FGECL is of high side-mode-suppression-ratio(SMSR),narrow line-width,excellent dynamic property and high modulation rate. Also it is found that when the reflectivities of two antireflection and high-reflection coatings increase,and the stable oscillation of the master wave is established in the external cavity,the threshold current is the lowest,but the efficiency of the electro-optical conversion and the power of the output light reduce sharply.

    The basic principle of the optical fiber pulse stacker in Inertial Confinement usion(ICF) front end system is described. When the seed pulse is split,time delayed,amplitude modulated and combined in the stacker,last arbitrary shape pulse is shaped. The effect of the seed pulse shape,the time delay and phase difference between pulses and optical filtering on stacking pulse shape is analyzed through numerical simulation. The results show that the shaping pulse with less than 100 ps rising edge,less than 5% pulse fluctuation,100 ps time precision can be obtained through increasing rising edge and falling edge,controlling phase difference at π/2 between adjacent pulse and filtering output pulse. The performance index can satisfy the application of ICF.

    The characteristic of ring laser gyroscope sensitive to magnetic fields was analyzed and the magnetic sensitivity test was performed. The results of test and analysis show that reasonable design can greatly decrease magnetic sensitivity of ring laser gyroscope in certain direction. This result of test is valuable to the design of magnetic shielding configuration of ring laser gyroscope.

    A long pulse of single longitudinal laser is input into two waveguide modulators respectively after beam splitting,meanwhile two shaped electric pulses with high time synchronization are input into the modulators respectively,which carries out high synchronization between the shaped optic pulse and the probe optic pulse. The research result indicates that the synchronization between the two pulses is less than 3.5 ps generated by this method.

    Based on geometric optics,the homogenizing principle of integrator rod was analyzed. Then the application of integrator rod in step-and-scan lithography systems was introduced. After that,the effect of NA of incident beam on the intensity distribution at blades plane was discussed and the relationship between the dimensions of integrator rod and the illumination field was obtained. The analysis above provided foundation for the design of integrator rod in step-and-scan lithography systems.

    Ritz-Galerkin method is used only for obtaining propagation constant and the radial mode field in core region of graded-index optical fibers. Cladding field has been constructed by using the accurate functional form(modified Bessel function) with two approximate parameters: the transverse decay constant in the cladding and the field value at core-cladding interface,which are already known. Numerical results show that the improvement on accuracy is significant. This approximate Ritz-Galerkin method has been applied to the calculation of coupling coefficient between two step-index optical fibers. Results are agreed well with exact values.

    Utilizing the glass photosensitivity. The supergratings can be fabricated with the function of wavelength-division demultiplexing in the planar waveguide. Through the study of the demultiplexing characteristics of planar waveguide supergratings based on the theory of mode coupling,the authors found that by influencing the coupling index,the angle of incident light can affect the reflectivity and bandwidth of gratings. When the incident light angle is large,although the reflectivity of the grating becomes large slightly,the bandwidth becomes wide. When the incident angle is small,although the reflectivity decreases slightly,the bandwidth becomes narrow obviously. In order to achieve the better demultiplexing performance,the requirements of reflectivity and bandwidth must be considered synthetically when designing the supergrating.

    Based on the model of anisotropic coupling theory,the initial intensity ratio of the two recording waves which was coherent to the length of the grating was introduced to the anisotropic coupling equations. The anisotropic Bragg diffraction properties of volume gratings in photorefractive crystals were investigated by the method of the couple wave theory. The effect both of the initial ratio of the intensity and of the recording angles of writing waves on the anisotropic Bragg diffraction properties of volume gratings was discussed. It is shown that both the ratio of the initial intensity and the incident angle of the writing waves were selective for the anisotropic Bragg diffraction efficiency of the volume gratings,while these two recording conditions were not selective for the isotropic Bragg diffraction.

    Based on the Fresnel-Kirchhoff diffraction theory,the focusing property of the Gaussian beam transmitted through the thin Kerr medium is studied. The simulation for the phase-delay ranging from to is made,and the results show that,for medium with positive nonlinear refraction index,the Kerr effects of the beam may improve the focused peak intensity and the PIB on the focal plane,enlarge the relative focal shift and reduce the peak intensity on the geometry focal plane;but for negative index medium,it will reduce the focused peak intensity and its PIB on the focal plane,but other properties of the focusing remain the same as the positive one. And the influence of the Kerr effects on the focusing property can be reduced by enlarging the Fresnel number of the Gaussian beams.

    The change of refractive index in finite V-shaped quantum well is investigated. The first-and third-harmonic generation coefficient is obtained by using Compact-density-matrix approach and iterative method,and the numerical results are presented for GaAs/AlGaAs finite V-shaped quantum well. The results show that the change of total refractive index will be large with decreasing incident intensity.

    The principal refractive indices of BIBO crystal for wavelengths of 0.4880,0.6328,1.0640 and 1.3414 μm under the temperature range from 30℃ to 170℃ were measured by auto-collimation method.The Sellmeir-equations at different temperatures and thermal coefficients of refractive indices have been obtained. In order to check their reliability,the refractive indices of 1.0795 μm in different temperatures are calculated by the Sellmeir-equation and then compared with the measured values. As a result,the difference between the calculated results and the measured results is less than 2×10-4.

    Regarding the prism assembly of precision light beam scanner as a finite element model,the optical-mechanical-thermal integrating analysis was done. In terms of structure statics,the structure design and intensity of the prism assemble was verified and checked,and the surface deformation analysis of the prism was correspondingly provided under steady-state mechanical loading;Through the mode analysis,the dynamic characteristic of the device and the vibration amplitude change of the prism surface was obtained;then the hot elasticity distortion of the prism was analyzed and the estimation of optics performance of the prism was given. The analysis results show: the maximal distortion of the prism assembly was 10 nm magnitude and the maximal stress was 0.403 MPa,which has much tolerance to the admissible stress of material and the precision requirement of structure;The natural frequency of the front prism assembly and the back one both were greater than 550 Hz,which indicated the dynamic performance of the device very well. Through comparing thermal-structure coupling analysis with mechanical loading analysis,the influence of heat effect on the prism surface deformations was proved far greater than the influence of mechanical loading,so the strict temperature-controlled measure must be taken when the device is used.

    It is established that the propagation equation of the optical field including PMD and the numerical simulation model in the microwave photonic switching based on NOLM by the split-step Fourier method(SSFM) that can solve the coupled nonlinear Schr?dinger equation(CNLSE),the three dimensional Poincare sphere theory and the Jones matrix method. It is obtained by simulation that the propagation process of optical carrier directly intensity modulated by the microwave in NOLM and the impact of the first-order and second-order PMD on the optical wave and the power transmission function of NOLM. The switching performance and the extinction ratio of the NOLM with large modulation bandwidth are deteriorated badly by PMD. And it induces the descent of the SNR and the side lobe leak of the signal. The impact of the second-order PMD is far more than that of the first-order PMD when the modulation bandwidth is larger than 40GHz. Furthermore,the compensation of PMD in the NOLM is discussed.

    A novel method for making color rainbow hologram of 3D object has been proposed. Theoretical analysis has indicated that the grating struction of holograms shot by three color object points in same situation is equivalence to those shot by three monochrome object points in different proper situation when satisfying some given conditions. Combining the technique of rainbow hologram,it has studied the coding way of the information distribution for trilolor light on the hologram plane,the hologram algorithm and color hologram facture with monochromatic light,at the same time,it has worked out a satisfying solution to the problem of hologram superposition and color crosstalk. The feasibility and efficiency of the method are confirmed by experimental results.

    A technique called computer-generated dynamic rainbow hologram,which combines computer generated hologram and synthetic technique for double-view dynamic rainbow hologram is presented.According to the characteristic of that rainbow hologram's elementary hologram is “line-element hologram”and the binocular stereo vision,it computes two slices from the “line-element hologram. And right and left eye views are made respectively corresponding to the two slices. The rainbow hologram's slot image was divided simultaneously. The aim of dynamic display can be realized if the region of the slot image corresponds to the object's different gesture. The new method was applied,and the elementary experiment result is given.

    The principle of the Sagnac imaging spectrometer was introduced,and the Sagnac interferometers' working way in the imaging spectrometer was illustrated. In this thesis,the structure of the solid Sagnac interferometer were analyzed,and discussion were made which based on the angle error directions' formulas which the spectral resolution of imaging spectrometer required the angle direction error of FT lens have to be met. From three vertical directions the rays were studied which passed through the two prisms adhered by glue,the pathway variation of the rays in the entitative Sagnac interferometer,and were aralyzed the relation by formulas between the spectral resolution and the angle deviation of the prisms were shown;the angle error formulas of the entitative Sagnac interferometer prisms were deduced which could meet the requirement of the spectral resolution of the interferometer spectroscopy;using examples to show the applying method of the formulas. If the dispersive induced by deforming of the shape of the prism and error of surfaces shape of the prism were neglected,only when the angle error of the prism were accounted,the angle error of the prisms should be strictly required,generally it should be less than 20″.

    Ground Control Points(GCPs)which include radar imagery,optic imagery and so on are used to rectify satellite imagery precisely,because orbit ephemeris and sensor parameters are often unavailable in practical application. In this paper,different kinds of precision rectification algorithms are introduced first,then a comprehensive comparison of several algorithms is carried out from the viewpoints of GCP number,the algorithm complexity,the applicability and so on,and in the end RadarSat and QuickBirdⅡ images are applied to test the accuracy of different precision rectification algorithms and the relationship between the accuracy and the number of GCPs. Experimental results show that the higher accuracy can be achieved with more GCPs,but the accuracy improve slowly when the number of GCPs increase to a certain extent. The accuracy of 3rd rational function model is the best for optic imagery. The rigor geometric model based on affine transform is a good algorithm for optic imagery with few GCPs. The direct linear transformation model,the self-calibration direct linear transformation model and the extensive direct linear transformation model can be used for commercial optic imagery and reach a high accuracy. For radar imagery,the accuracy of the Range-Doppler model is stable and the model achieves high accuracy with few GCPs.

    Based on cross polarization modulation effect in semiconductor optical amplifier(SOA),wavelength conversion was analyzed theoretically. Which shows that wavelength conversion can be realized. Both inverted and non-inverted wavelength conversions of 10 Gb/s RZ signal were experimentally achieved simultaneously for the first time,with 8.1 dB and 6.9 dB output extinction ratio respectively.

    Based on the fiber waveguiding theory and hormgeneously broadened four energy-level model,the designing considerations of the fiber structure parameters-fiber core radius and relative index difference of tellurite-based erbium-doped fiber with step-type index distribution,which is applied in broadband amplifiers,are presented theoretically. It is shown that the tellurite-based erbium-doped fiber with bigger relative index difference is needed to form fiber amplifier in order to get larger signal gain under single-mode conditions. While,for the same relative index difference,the bigger the fiber core radius,the larger the signal gain when in the state of high pump power,low signal input or shorter than the best fiber length. On the contrary,the smaller fiber core radius is needed. The above results will provide theoretical significance for the fabrication of new type broad-band tellurite-based erbium-doped fiber.

    Propagation of dispersion-managed soliton in birefringent optical fibers is considered. A set of ordinary differential equations is obtained by means of approximate variational method. Effects of the birefringence on parameters of the dispersion-managed soliton are analysed numerically. It is found that evolutions of pulse duration and frequency chirp are not periodical due to effects of walk-off. When the walk-off is compensated through rotating the axis of the birefringent by π/2 in the dispersion line,managed soliton can be obtained.

    Based on parallel recursive synchronous scramble method,an novel extension bit method for parallel frame synchronous scrambler is proposed. Using periodicity of the scramble sequence,it is theoretic proved the complexity of this method is not depended on the expression of generation polynome.This method does not need to calculate recursive formula of the parallel scrambler. It makes the design of scrambler and descrambler simple. The memory depth of scramler is only relative to the rank of the generation polynome. The arbitrary word-wide scrambler can be constitute with the memory a few read/write logic. It is high efficence and low logical complexity proved by FPGA designing,and this mothed has been applied in the front terminal of high-speed optical transport system.

    Based on the conventional technology,the sensitivity of GaN-based Photoconductive Ultravidet Detectors is improved by changed electrode shape. According to theoretical calculation,the receivable ultravidet ray intensity of detectors with triangular and half-cylinder electrode is increased by 100% and 20% respectively,and half-cylinder electrode,to triangular electrode extremely difficult processed,be possessed of a simple and easy manufacturing technology.

    λ-phage DNA molecules,stained with YOYO-1 fluorescent dye,were put inside sub 100 nm open channels which have width ~40 nm and depth ~60 nm. The DNA molecules were transported along these nanoconduits and the removing information was observed by fluorescence microscopy technique clearly. The movements of DNA molecules in the channels were discussed.Associating with optical molecular imaging,these scale nanostructured fluidic channels would be useful for studying single biomolecules statics as well as the dynamics.

    The solution of the diffuse equations of a n-layered matched medium in frequency domain was setup. Through Fourier transform,the time-resolved reflectance can be computed. In order to test accuracy of the model,the time-resolved reflectance are compared with Monte-Carlo simulation. The results show that the model is described with good accuracy. The research show the optical properties of biological tissue and disease can be determined by the model.

    The matching radius of fiber probes with given conditions ation based on the theory of mode matching.The ray tracing of exciting laser propagation in the tapered probe with the calculated matching radius is analysed.The analyzing results indicate: if the probe coupling beams were without limitation,some rays would not satisfy the conditions of total internal reflection when they were propagated in tapered probe and would leak out the probe. In this case,the biosensor system would get false detection result and affected the system reliability. It presented this problem and resolved it in the system designing procedures.

    The photosynthetic parameters of mung bean seedling in present of increased UV-B radiation,paclobutrazo(PP333)or their combined treatment were determined with TPS-1 photosynthesis system or calculated according to the theory of Farquhar and Sharkey. The content of RuBP carboxylase-oxygenase (Rubisco)was also assayed simultaneously. In the first leaf of seedling,UV-B radiation resulted in decreases in net photosynthetic rate(Pn),stomatal limitation value(Ls)and stomatal conductance(Gs),which were accompanied by increase in intercellular CO2 concentration (Ci). PP333 elevated Pn,Gs and Ci,and reduced Ls. In comparison with PP333 treatment,UV-B+PP333 induced reduction of Pn,Gs and Ci,but promoted Ls to rise. Pn,mesophyl photosynthetic capacity(Ao),apparent quantum yield(AQY),carboxylation velocity of Rubisco(dPn/dCi) and the content of Rubisco were reduced both in UV-B treatment(in comparison to control)and UV-B +PP333 treatment(in comparison to PP333 treatment)seedlings,and the reductive extent was greater in UV-B treatment seedling than in UV-B+PP333 treatment seedling. And the reductive effects of UV-B radiation on Pn,Ao,AQY,dPn/dCi and Rubisco content were bigger than the promotive effects of PP333 treatment on those parameters. These results prove that UV-B radiation depresses Pn mainly by inhibiting photosynthetic activities of mesophyll cell,while the dominant reasons of PP333 promoting Pn and UV-B radiation inhibiting Pn in UV-B+PP333 treatment seedling are the changes of Gs.

    To introduce wavelet packet transform into optical transform and improve the recognition performance of optical iris recognition,optical wavelet packet transform is proposed based on the analysis of the necessary condition for optical wavelet transform. Using the eigen-image based correlation recognition method and replacing the entropy criterion with the identification rate for iris recognition,the joint best wavelet packet bases for the whole image bank are chosen. Corresponding eigen images are generated. To further improve the performance of optical iris recognition,an optical wavelet packet filter is designed through linearly combining these wavelet packet bases. The filter is inserted in a volume holographic opto-electronic hybrid iris recognition system for feature extraction. The wavelet packet features extracted correlate with the eigen images stored in the photorefractive crystal. The correlation fesults are captured and transferred to a computer for post processing. In simulation,the mother wavelet,Db4,is utilized. Four wavelet packet bases are selected. The filter can obviously improve the identification rate from 90.91% to 95.45%. This result not only proves the efficiency of the filter designed but also shows that the capacity of optical information processing is enhanced after the introduction of wavelet packet transform into optics.

    A digital simulation shadow moiré techniques is proposed that includes the auto-design of arrangements for shadow moiré instruments and the auto-production of shadow moiré fringe patterns by computer,based on the concept of the virtual shadow moiré field. A new experimental system of the digital simulation shadow moiré profilometry is also built up,which can not only be used to reconstruct profiles of object surface efficiently,but also be used as an error analysis and evaluation system. The parameters of several optical arrangement cases of the shadow moiré instruments were analyzed by using the experimental system. The key data of the arrangement parameters are provided,which play important roles in controlling the maximum original system relative error less than 5%. These data may be used for rationally designing shadow moiré instruments in the experimental system. The digital simulation shadow moiré profilometry proposed in this paper is helpful to promote the development and perfection of the whole shadow moiré profilometry.

    The absolute security of quantum cryptography system was guaranteed by two aspects: no eavesdropping channel and no repetition true random codes. The randomicity of physical random number generator based on Guass noise was discussed. The relation of its correlation coefficient and entropy with the physical parameter were calculated and how to get the best performance was discussed. It is useful for developing the true random number generator used in the quantum cryptography systems.

    To provide an effective moving resolution stripes to be tested in fiber optic taper coupled with Time Delay and Integration Charge Coupled Devices(TDI-CCD),traditional push-broom imaging laboratory sets were analyzed,and the scheme of electronic object displayed cyclically on the screen was used as an improvement. Designing idea was tested by means of optical camera static imaging and TDI-CCD camera dynamic imaging. The problem that fine resolution patterns cannot display exactly on the screen of monitor or projector was resolved by taking full advantage of the stability of moving patterns produced by optical system and the facility of electronic system on control,display and real time processing. Compared with the traditional laboratory simulative sets of the dynamic push-broom imaging the stability of stripes is improved,the mismatch between the speed of stripes and the line scanning rate of TDI-CCD was reduced.The scheme is not only convenient for coupling monitoring but also available for the image quality testing of the coupling system.

    A calibration device for writing rate of ultra-high speed rotating mirror camera was developed.Its relative uncertainty can reach 0.1% by narrow slit、Ultra-high response multiplier tube and its accordant sensitivity. The influence of gas pressure on writing rate was analyzed and it is very important for explosive test. The application method is given according to calibration result.

    The reflection optics with large aperture is widely used in spatial remote instruments. The imaging quality of the optics is closely related to the mirror surface deformation which caused by the mirror's supporting structure. An interface program between the mechanical finite element analysis and the optic design software is presented. In this way,it can directly study the deterioration of the optics imaging quality which caused by the supporting structure. During the design of the optical system,this method can also be used in integrated analysis of optics,mechanics and thermodynamics.

    The on-axis irradiance distribution behind the cylindrical lens with spherical aberration illuminated by partially coherent light is derived from Collins formula. The effect of the Fresnel number and spatial coherence of the incident light as well as the spherical aberration of the lens on the on-axis irradiance distribution is also investigated by numerical simulation. It is shown that,when the light with low Fresnel number or low spatial coherence by the aberration-free lens,the focal shift appears. Besides,the focal shift also appears when light is focused by lens with spherical aberration.

    Using the method of separation of variables in the elliptical coordinate system,the approximate eigenequation for an elliptical optical waveguide made from LHM is given. To find the propagation characteristics of fundamental mode in the elliptical optical waveguide,numerical methods are applied.Numerical examples reveal the influences of the permittivity,permeability of LHM and the eccentricity of the elliptical optical waveguide made from LHM on the fundamental mode propagation characteristics.These results show that the propagation characteristic of fundamental modes in the elliptical optical waveguide is influenced weakly by the permittivity and permeability of LHM and influenced strongly by the eccentricity of the elliptical optical waveguide. In addition,fundamental mode propagation characteristics in an elliptical optical waveguide made from LHM are compared with fundamental mode propagation characteristics in an elliptical optical waveguide made from RHM.

    Universal Fresnel formulae at the interface of two medium whose permitivity and permeability are ε1μ1、ε2μ2 are derived from Maxwell theory. The universal Fresnel formulae of the reflectivity and transmission coefficients are given. It is applicable for Right-handed materials and Left-handed materials.Analyzing properties of refection and refraction between two medium,the condition of Brewster angle are given in the Left-handed materials. The condition show that Brewster angle is not only relate to refractive index but also relate to permeability.
