This paper presents a new optical method for density pseudo-coloring that the solor can be adhusted The method is based on the technique of phase image pseudo-coloring and ealizes adjustable pseudo-coloring by using the diffract effect of dual gratings and filtering technique in whitelight system. The paper proves the principle and verifies the validity of the theory by experiment. Certain images are processed. Both the theory and the experiment show that this method is effective.

Various kinds of color-image correlation detection with polychromatic matched spatical filter (MSF) have been investigated. A new type of lensless intensity correlation with Fresnel holographic filter (FHF) has been presented. A combined technique is proposed in this paper by which the color pattern recognition can be achieved with multi-wavelength FHF.

The transfer function of an electron-optical system with rotational asymmetrical aberrations is anisotropio in spatial frequency domain. By means of optioal, holographic and partial coherent method a new technique is suggested in this paper to abstract the transfer function from the electron micrograph. The phase and amplitude componets of spatial frequency filter are made. The resolution of electron micrograph with asymmetrical aberrations can be improved through the deconvolution.

The noise sources and model in speckle photography fringe pattern is discussed and a noise filter for this model is designed. By means of orthogonal experiment, the effects of noise, visibility and fringe density on the measuring accuracy of fringe direction and space are analysed in detail.

Statistical properties of dynamic speckle with dual diffusing light combination from a rotating diffuser have been investigated under the condition of two Gaussian beams illumination. These properties are described by a specific space-time in tensity correlation function. We have derived the analytical expression of this function and have confirmed this theoretical result with an experiment by using photon counting and photon correlation techniques.

After transforming the ridge waveguide into an equivalent slab waveguide by means of the effective index method, we have derived the expression of mode absorptive loss coefficient using the differentiation method. Based on. thes method, the optical characteristies of the ridge weak absorptive dielectric waveguide can be easily analysed and calculated with high accuracy.

By means of the density operator method, the interaction of a three-level atom with single-mode cavity field is investigated. The photon statistics for the radiation Held is obtained and the effects of arbitrary detunings as well as the anti-bunching phenomenon are discussed.

In this paper, we presented a new structure semiconductor laser array——Cross-Coupled Asymmetric Offset Strip Composite Cavity Semiconductor LaserArray. These arrays were composed of seven or nine asymmetric half electrode strips, whose positions were offseted. They from seven or nine composite cavities and the light in which coupled in a cross way. Single-lobfar-field patterns of 3°-4°wide, were obtained from the array upto I= 1.6Ith.

A pair of correlated light quanta of 532 nm wavelength with the same linear polarization but divergent directions of propagation was produced by non-linear optical parametric down conversion in a crystal of deuterated potassium di-hydrogen phosphate from a 100 ps duration laser pulse of 266 nm wavelength. Each light quantum was converted to a circular polarization state or a linear polarization state (orthogonal) and was reflected by a turning mirror to superpose with the other at a beam splitter to produce a two-quantum superposition state. For ooinoident detection of the two liglit quanta at separated detectors, oorrelaliions of the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen type for the polarizations have been observed as predicted by our analysis. In preliminary runa with limited bata we have measured a violation of Bell's inequality by three standard deviations. We are planning to extend our experiments to include a truly random delayed choioe between two analyser settings at each detector while maintaining a spaoelike separation between the detectors.

Probing polymerization of L-B mono-molecular layers by optical SHG is firstly reported. Changes of the nonlinear polarizability of the molecular layers can be explained by using the theory of atom-radical and valence bond. Morever, it is suggested that the monomer molecular layer adjacent to the surface is polymerized earlier than the other layera.

It was proved theoretically and experimentlly that the frequency flipping of phase conjugation can be used to compensate the dispersive effect in fibers. From Fourier transformation in the dispersive optical fibers we derived the condition in which the quadratic dispersive effect in the fibers can be neglected. The curves of bandwidth and reflectivity of the conjugate mirror versus nonlinear medium length and | K| L are obtained. The Primary factors affecting compensation for fiber dispersion are found out.

This paper reports a novel integrated optics microdisplacement sensor which has been fabricated in our Labs, based on S. Honkanen s proposal. The NA approach is firstly used for ca]culating the characteristics of the sensor and all the performances of the device are measured. The theoretical analysis and experimental results are in agreement basically. Several ways to improve the sensitivity of the device are presented. The sensor could be used in a wide area, such as vibration, acceleration and acoustic sensing etc.

This paper describes the fabrication of a wide-temperature and low-loss fused single-mode optioalfibre coupler. The device is fabricated from standard communication fibre. The specifications of the packaga device at 1.52μm are as follows: splitting at 0(?)50%,splitting ratio tolerance 40 dB. The splitting ratio is highly sensitive to operating wavelength, but insensitive to polarization of input light.

The evolution of the photonemigsion-spectra from a laser dressed atom is Investigated theoretically. The processes preparing initiative state and the effect of the initiative state on the exciting and spontaneous processes are discussed. The compasison of quantum theory and semiclassical theory for this study is made, when the drive field is coherent state, they are equivalent. The feature of the photonemission-spectra, its evonlation and some physical problems related to them are also discussed.

A method for multiple angle of incidence (MAI) ellipsometric analysis in determination of double-layer optical thin film parameters is described. The error factory and the choice of the optimal measurement conditions of optical thin film parpmeters in MAI ellipsometric analysis are dicussed. It is showed that the method enables the determination of all the optical parameters and thickness of double-layer film system with a high accuracy if the systems are of sufficient thickness. This fact is illustrated with tha samples of Si/SiO2/Si3N4 and Si/SiO2/poly-Si systems. The method can be extended to analyzing the mutilayer optical "bhin film systems.
