The coupled wave equation for light diffraction from volume hologram grating in photorefractive crystals are derived by carefully considered the anisotropio nature of crystals. The solutions of these equations are also obtained. With the formulas in this paper, the results of experiment in which the two incident beams are asymmetrical can be explained.

The stimulated collision-induced fluorescence (SOF) at wavelengths of 472.6nm, 582.6nm and 648.3nm, as well as Raman-shifted radiation at wavelength of 475nm were observed in barium vapor pumped by broadband pulse of the XeOl laser. The SCF was found to be self-termination short pulses with FWHM of 8 ns, and its internsity inoreased with buffer-gas pressure. There existed time delay aa long as 20 ns between the front edges of the pump pulse and of the Raman-shifted pulse, and the Raman conversion efficiency deoreased significantly as the buffer-gas pressure increasing.

In this paper, the theory of linear stability analysis is used in analyzing the complex amplitude of vibration of multi-photon optical bistability which was described by semiolassical Maxwell-Blooh equations. The results of analysis show that after the adiabatio elimination being acted to atomic polarization there is no instability on cooperation branch and one single branch of multi-photon optical bistability characteristic, showing that there is no chaos of multi-photon optical bistability which was caused by the instability of the soft mode at the same time. It has been indicated that the third condition of stability is related to bistable characteristic of umlti-photon optical bistability.

This paper studies the important effect of feedback delay on the unstable output of ring cavity laser system, especially the route to chaos in small delay time. The reason for higher bifurcations having not been found in small delay time is analyaised, and the routes to chaos in both small and large delay time are connected by numerical calculation.

The resonance flnoresenoe from a two-level atom driven by a realistic laser field with phase fluctuation is discussed using a phase-diffusion model. It is shown that when phase fluctuation of the pump laser beam inoreses the squeezing effects in the resonance fluorescence decrese, and the region of the sub-Poisson distribution of the field in the homodyne detection of the resonance fluorescence becomes less.

The Brillouin scattering of lithium niobate-tantalate crystals (LiTaNb1-cO3, x-0.0013, 0.0062, 0.015, 0.06) has been investigated at room temperature. The elastic stiffness constants and piezoelectric stress constants of these crystals have been obtained. The temperature dependence of the Brillouin frequency shift for one of these crystals in the range from 50 K to 580 K has been measured. An abnormal peak has been observed in the Brillouin spectra for some phonons in addition to the three normal peaks.

In this paper the algebraic solntions for elimination SⅠ, SⅡ,SⅢ and SⅣ by the theory of third order aberations are derived. Equations for elimination aberrations are given in terms of the ratios of obscuration and magnifications of the second ary and tertiary and of the oonio constants of the three mirrors. Checks of the equations by the data of some three mirror systems published in foreign papers give good coincidence.

A new isolator-high-speed mechanical rotating mirror isolator for high power laserfusion systems, is described in this paper. The isolator has a high isolating ratio and a low insert loss, and it can also acts as spatial filter and backward laser beam isolator. The problem of synchnization is investigated in detail. Our experiment shows that an isolator with a beam aperture of 40mm, and a rotative velocity of 6000rpm can achieve a timing accuracy of better than 0.3μs, and a restoring accuracy of better than 0.3 μs,and a restoring accuracy of better than 1". The factors affecting the accuracy are analyzed and methods of improvment are given.

This paper reported that PS laser teohniqug was used to measure the fluorescence lifetime of kiton red dye. Experimental results show that fluorescence decay of Kr molecules behaved as double exponential form, which verified the existence of tauto-meric equilibrium between enol form and Kito form in the Kiton dye solution.

The crucial parts of a fiber-optic sensor (FOS) are 3dB couplers. It is a novel idea that a holographic lens is made as the coupler for a fiber-optic gyro. Theoretically we explored the possibility of this way and achieved it experimentally. According to Kogelnik s Coupled Wave Theory, under the Bragg condition, the diffraction efficiency of transmission holographic gratings, whose recording material is fit for certain conditions, theoretically, is up to 100%.

The determination of chemical oarcinogen-DNA adducts is necessary for research of molecular epidemiology and mechanism of chemical carcinogenesis. A method ig presented in this paper for the detection of putative addnots by using fluorescence spectroscopy. The main advantages include high sensitivity and high selectivity. The minimum detectable amount of O6-MEG is 0.01 fmol/ml. The sensitivity of detection is an order of magnitude higher than that of radioimmunoassay.

In this paper, rotation and scaling properties with an amplitude-compensated matched titer is presented. Computer simulations show that this kind of filter is much more sensitive as compared to a matched spatial filter or a phase-only one. Correlations against rotation angle and scaling factor for all the three filters are also presented.
